Hello all!

What mean 9k? Is this gold like 10k or is this other thing?

It's similar to 10K, but with a little less gold and a little more something else (9 parts gold to 15 parts something else).

Yes. 9/24 = 37.5% gold by weight. It's mostly sold in Europe and Austalia, I believe. I don't know what its properties are. Hard and/or brittle is what I would guess. There is probably something on the Internet about it. Better than gold-filled, and less than 10k, lol.

I have not seen any in the US but have come across this in the UK. It has more of other metals than gold. I think it works out to around 37% gold content.

the only time ive ever heard of it was a quote from Fraiser.

9 carat gold is perfectly normal here in Australia (we dont have 10k). Usually it goes like this: 9ct for cheaper "fun" jewellery, the 14ct - a bit more serious/expensive then 18ct is "proper" gold for jewels like erings. I dont think it's any less durable but may be slightly less buttery in colour. Hope this helps :wavey:

I think it's illegal to sell 9k as 'gold' in the States, seems 10K is the legal minimum to be termed gold.

Thank you all! :wavey:
