Yes. 9/24 = 37.5% gold by weight. It's mostly sold in Europe and Austalia, I believe. I don't know what its properties are. Hard and/or brittle is what I would guess. There is probably something on the Internet about it. Better than gold-filled, and less than 10k, lol.
I have not seen any in the US but have come across this in the UK. It has more of other metals than gold. I think it works out to around 37% gold content.
9 carat gold is perfectly normal here in Australia (we dont have 10k). Usually it goes like this: 9ct for cheaper "fun" jewellery, the 14ct - a bit more serious/expensive then 18ct is "proper" gold for jewels like erings. I dont think it's any less durable but may be slightly less buttery in colour. Hope this helps
