.81 Carat opinion please

I''ve been searching for a stone for 3 months now. I originally purchased one from an ebay seller but obviously the rock that came in was horribly over graded so i returned it for a loss of course. Now i back to searching and found this.

That ACA is lovely...and is a bigger stone then the .81 previously posted. Also, VVS2 is a bit overkill.

The reason why i wanted something in the vvs range was because i was burned the first time buying a si1-si2 stone.

Whiteflash will tell you if this diamond is eye clean. They are honest, you can trust them completely.

Ditto dreamer - there are bad SIs out there, it's too bad you got stuck with one before... swinging to vvs is way, way overkill though. Unless clarity that high is important to you, you'll definitely be paying for something you can't appreciate. If you're just not comfortable with the idea of having a 'slightly included' stone VS is the best compromise.


Decide exactly what you mean by the word "eyelcean" - does that mean clean from arms' length face up? From 6"? From all viewing angles - incl. sides? You can trust WF to tell you the truth about whether a stone fits your criteria.

Ditto to what has been said. The ACA will be gorgeous and WF will level with you whether the diamond is eye clean. I found a Si1 EC diamond (1/2 ct.) that is eye clean so it is possible.

I think the ACA will look better, but given the price difference, the excel one might work. I don''t know enough about princess numbers to tell you how the stone will perform. I''m sure others will chime in...personally, I''d go with the ACA b/c it will sparkle like crazy and probably look bigger than the .8 from excel.

The excel stone is not a bad diamond at all, it has a nice ASET but I like the ASET on the WF stone a little better bc there is more red in it but given the price difference that call is up too you. I know excel has very good pricing, you might call them and see what else they have in stock. also, have you looked at GOG?

I like the Excel stone although the ACA is a better cut. When it comes to princess cuts I would prefer higher color if I had to pick between color and clarity. Color shows a bit more in deeper stones. From the AGS report the SI1 doesn''t look like it has any obvious inclusions. But the WF stone is more expensive and smaller. Either one would be nice.
