8 Prong setting

I think my girlfriend would like the rings at this site:

They all come with 8 prong settings. I read in another topic that the number of prongs doesn''t affect the way the diamond reflects light because the light is reflected in and out of the top of the stone. Is there anything else I need to know about the 8 prong settings?

Hi,
Eight prong victorian rings are very pretty but there is one drawback with the 8-prong. Dirt, soap, grease, etc. tends to collect on the back of diamonds and the 8-prong is harder to keep clean. She will need to clean the diamond more often with a toothbrush (daily). Otherwise...enjoy!

How often do you have to clean a diamond in a 6 prong setting?
