WTB 8-8.5mm round solitaire setting

I'm looking to upgrade the setting for my engagement ring. I've got a 8.2mm diamond -- anything from a 8-8.5mm setting should fit. I'm looking for 6 or 8 prongs, 18kt yellow gold or platinum. Ideally 18kt yellow gold band with a platinum head. I love pointy prongs, but my jeweler can reshape the prongs if necessary. Can be any size, but must be resizable to a 3.5. Looking to spend under $1k. Thanks!

Hi, wondering if you think this could fit a 7 mm stone? Or is that generally too much of a difference?

I’ll check with a jeweler. Some sources seem to give more leeway on size than others…I’ll see what the person who would be setting it thinks.

Hi, I appreciate your response. I just got back from the jeweler and he proposed a solution of replacing the head on my ring with a sturdier one. I will see if that is sufficient to fix my problem without scrapping the whole setting. You have a lovely setting and I hope you find a buyer soon.
