7-stone cluster pendant - WF or BGD?

Hi everyone! I''m really interested in the 7-stone cluster pendant that both Whiteflash and BGD have available. My dilemma is which size to get - the .25ctw or the .5ctw. I want something dainty but not invisible. I would love to see neckshots of these pendants in various sizes if anyone owns them. Also, any recommendations on whether I should go with WF or BGD? I''ve bought many things from WF and totally love them but have been wanting to do business with BGD since they opened up!

Personally I like the more "petal-y" shape of the BGD pendant, but I think it's got to be a balance for you of what appeals aesthetically and what works within your budget. :) Either way, it's going to be gorgeous!!
 
good point! I''ve been trying to go through the forum and get some neck shots of different sizes. I think I''m leaning towards the smaller one - the .25ctw. I didn''t really notice that one or the other had a more "petal" shape.
 
I''ve sent a note to Lesley to see if BGD even makes these in less than the .5ctw size. I still (even after looking at neckshot photos of each size) cannot decide which size I want. It seems like such a tiny difference in size - 9mm for the .5ctw and 7mm for the .25ctw. Two mm is just so insignificant! But then you think about the size of the stones - the larger one has 7 pointers in it, whereas the smaller one has 3.5 pointers. So the stones are twice as big but the total size of the piece is only 2mm larger!

The whole WF/BGD split has made projects difficult! Both are so amazing. Doesn''t Ellen have the WF version? If I remember correctly, she posted several shots of it too. I like both, to hard to decide!
 
They''re both really nice! From the photos, I guess I prefer the BGD a smidge more, but they could be identical in person. Hard to tell.
 
She does and I love hers! I just realized the smaller version is 7.5mm (not 7mm) so just a 1.5mm difference in size! I honestly cannot see a difference in the head-on shots. They look alike to me from both vendors. The center stone on each has 6 prongs surrounding it and each side stone has 3 prongs surrounding it. The bails look almost identical too.

BTW, has anyone seen the movie Valentine''s Day? Did you notice the necklace Jessica Alba had on in the movie? It reminded me of this necklace! (the little version of it)
 
they are both lovely, I think I would decide which size you want and then see who can give you the best price...
 
I would get the larger size.
 
Thanks everyone! I verified with Lesley that the settings are indeed the same. So it now comes down to which size I want to go with. As we all know, both vendors use top-notch melee in their pieces. Tough decision! Keep the feedback coming - as to which size you''d go with if you were buying one!

I know its a tough decision, but I personally would go with BGD, and my vote is for the larger one!
 
I used to own the WF cluster pendant, and to me, it looks like the exact same pendant as in the BGD photos. Same raised middle stone and holes in the back.

ETA: Oops, I see it's been verified already!
 
Thank you everyone! I have decided to go with BGD and the larger (.5ctw) size. I am SO excited to get to work with BGD after working with Brian and Lesley at WF on many occasions. Putting in the order today...

So funny that they''re actually the same... I honestly do see a difference! Interesting... but could have something to do with the fact that there aren''t any square-on shots of the BGD pendant. I can''t wait to work with them myself, you lucky duck! :)

No, I loved it! I have a baby who likes to pull at anything around my neck, and I was worried he''d break it. I didn''t want it sitting in my jewelry box unworn, so I sold it to another PSer. :)

Seriously though, thanks for all the feedback. For the difference in price, it just didn''t make sense to get one with half the carat weight for just slightly less money.

I will absolutely post photos once I get it. And I think KatyWI is right - the different angles of the photos makes them look slightly different. I think this will be a great summer pendant. It also reminds me of the little bitty tattoo I designed and have on my ankle. It''s the only one I have and it''s a 5-petal flower with the letter "E" for my daughter. I''ll attach a photo here just for kicks.

I have the .25 from WF and love it! It's my "everyday" pendant and I get a lot of compliments on how delicate and sparkly it is.

just wanted to say that i dont think you can go wrong and, either way, it''s going to be a lovely ''go to'' piece for many different occasions.

i''d go with the .5ct design - mainly because i''m not tiny like MTG! (MTG - yours looks stunning on you!)
 
Thanks whitby! This will sound crazy but I''m a little concerned it will be too big. But I can grow into it. hee hee. I''m not what I''d call tiny but I''m pretty small, so maybe it will be a perfect size on me.
