Hi all -

I'm looking for a diamond to purchase for an engagement ring.

I'd ideally like a 1 carat stone. Are there any complications/added costs when purchasing from the US?

I'm also considering stones direct from the mines who are selling direct.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a channel through which to purchase. Any names/site would be appreciated!

It all depends on what you are looking for.

If you are looking for Super-Ideal-Cut
diamonds. Than there is no better place to
go to than the United States!

The pricescope search engines are an excellent
place to start.

As for the duties, you will have to pay.
They would be well worth it, because you may be
very surprised with what you can get.

i also live in uk,and have purchased diamond from America this year on line.

Found the experience excellent,and got my self a real bargain, bought the diamond from icestore.com and had it appraised by dave atlas.

Dave sent it to our hotel,by fed ex and we brought it home.

We paid $5600 for the ring and diamond,if we had bought same ring in uk it would have been $13000.
