6ct Oval by AV

Hi Jonathan,

Is there a difference between the Signature Oval and the Opulence Oval on your website? Thank you for taking the time to respond to our questions/comments. :)

My pleasure Mixtress. Same. Was contemplating the name but really liked Opulence.

I agree. I'm seriously thinking about it. But 1) I don't have that amount of cash right now to dispose of and 2) I'd have to 100000% sure I don't want a MRB anymore.

Hmm...I wonder if GOG would take Holly in as trade? But I'd still have to make sure I don't want a MRB. Bc more likely than not, I'd like a large EC later down the road...funds permitting of course.

I am way late to this thread, but I didn't see anyone address your last question, Phoenix. Jonathan does not work for Good Old Gold now. He has his own business, August Vintage, Inc. I am doubtful most vendors would take a 5 ct stone in trade as they so rarely sell stones that size. So more than likely, you'll need to arrange to sell Holly if you decide to upgrade.

The oval is gorgeous, and certainly there will be few in the world above 3-4 cts. Much more unique than a modern round.

I did actually know that, DS. I guess I was having temporary amnesia at the time I posted, lol. Thank you for pointing that out.

I haven't really done anything concrete as far as Holly is concerned. But will def take what you say into consideration. Thx.

I have conceptual models for a vintage oval I've been working on as well as other shapes I want to introduce to the AV line but that is a ways out.

digressing

Sure would wish to see in the white & change range, at least some of the variety of cut models deployed on FCD. Of course, no idea what it takes to play with diamonds this way - making a layout of brighteness / contrast patterns as looks of diamond, exactly like colours are looks (types) of sapphire !

when it comes to FCD an entirely different cutting philosophy is employed. Def a can do but the demand would have to be there.

What you want to look for is an "Oval Modified Brilliant" facet pattern on the GIA report.
I agree with Jon that many FCD's are cut with different goals as compared to colorless- but depending on the depth of the rough, I've seen some pretty funky colorless OMB's.
They are definitely out there in colorless.
