Hey all,

After hours of research, I finally found a perfect diamond from GOG but when I heard that their Tiffany replica setting costs $1700 for whitegold and $1900 for platinum, my jaw dropped.

I called around B&M and searched online and no one really seem to have as close replica as GOG has.

I was expecting to pay somewhere around $300-$500.

Anyone have any insight on this?

I'm located in Portland, OR if that makes any difference.

The Vatche U-113 is the nicest Tiffany repro setting. For $300-500 you will get one of the generic 6 prong settings such as stuller. Metals prices are sky high, and nice settings cost a lot. I have the Vatche U-113 from GOG and love it. I'd suggest just getting a generic setting now if the price is too high on the Vatche now. I wouldn't settle for a poor quality Tiffany repro.

Top right is what I mean by a generic 6 prong setting:

I got the Stuller 6 prong in platinum last year from GOG and it is very good but definitely not fancy like the posher brands. I paid 1900. Vatche etc would cost more. Metal prices are crazy high right now. I don't know where you would pay 300-500 even for a basic setting. Might look at pre-loved... if you're lucky you might find a bargain? But if you aren't willing to wait till a great deal comes along, you'll just have to bite the bullet and get the GOG stuller setting. This is my .83 stone in the plat setting.

So true - metal prices are sky high right now, and a nice setting will cost you about that much. For $300-$500 you aren't going to get much in the style or quality department.... sorry. That said, I had a 4 prong tapered band Stuller setting for one of my stones, and it was fine, with surprising grace for such an inexpensive setting (it showed off the stone very well) - got it from Good Old Gold for one of their AVC's for about $300 at the time. I'd try to work w/ GOG if your stone is still there... they may even have some pre-owned settings available.

Have a look in the pre-loved section here - maybe something there will fit your stone.

What shape and size is your stone?

Thank you all so much for replying.

I decided to stick with classic 6 prong from GOG for now.

And the diamond I got is 1Ct G VS2
