6 prong settings? Can they ever sit flush with a wedding band?

Hi! I am looking to change my e-ring setting to a 6 prong setting so that the diamond is more secure. Do any 6 prong settings sit flush with a wedding band or is it impossible due to its very design? Can I please see pics of your 6 prong engagement rings and wedding bands together?

Ritani makes some settings that sit flush with any e-ring. Look for their perfect match rings.

Yes they can. I have a six prong setting from E-weddingbands.com. They put the 6 prong crown onto of a 2mm heavy comfort fit platinum band and it sat flush with the three bands that I own. I had a 6 prong setting from Blue Nile where the prongs were intergrated with the setting and it did not fit flush with any band I tried.

I would *guess* that *most* 6-prong settings tend to use a "donut" (small circle of metal) under the stone, and this does prevent a w-ring from sitting absolutely flush. Although many people (myself included) actually think that a small gap between rings is very attractive.

That being said, though, if you still want a ring style that WOULD allow another ring to sit flush, look around... there are various styles that allow this, you just need to compare options and see what you prefer.
