.55 ct stone on 3mm ring

This is the image taken by the jeweler for our insurance documents. We actually upgraded the width of the band 1mm since this picture was taken. I have seen some other posts where people ask for diamond size vs. band width, so I thought this might help some. Once the ring is on my hand I will add the images with the 4mm band. Enjoy!

Band width: 3mm
Diamond width: ~6mm

(Shy in comparison to some of the diamonds on here, but the stone was my grandmother''s and I''ve loved it since I was little!)

I wish i had a better picture now!! This is a scan from a printout they sent us! The ring has been off limits to me since the bf picked it up!! As soon as I have it, there will be pictures galore.

I''m really into the minimalist-thing, so I picked out a polished, flat palladium band, and the platinum version of the setting below (with just a little bit of fancy). The 3mm was too narrow for the head, so it was hanging over the edges and I hated it, so then we upped the width. I didn''t get to see it with the wider band, but I''m sure it is perfect.

jcarley- I loved the setting that the stone was in originally, but the jeweler said it was too old and unstable for daily wear.

Oh well, customizing really helped make it mine!
