BA5821C4-DC97-4908-8737-4A8A7E9C1ECB.png I wish to buy a diamond, recently I went to local shop saw a GIA certificate diamond as below.is that good to buy?i check the HCA rating is 1.3.is that’s worth to buy ?

It is a decent stone, if you can haggle and bring the price down to a reasonable level, which is under $3500.

A D and a VVS1 is kind of overkill, clarity that high isn't something you can actually see so unless it's a mind thing, where you want that for some reason, you could safely go down to a lower clarity and save some money or afford a larger stone.

This. And the price is also high even for a D, VVS1.

For example, here's an excellent 0.82 G VVS1 for $4300. Ask for the pricescope discount and you could probably get a few hundred knocked off the price.

First I am going to link a helpful resource that talks about symmetry and angle combinations for you that is very helpful. It center around the HCA tool which is a rejection tool but it has good knowledge about angle combinations and images like idealscope and ASET.

You want an HCA of 2 or lower typically, but there can be exceptions. Your diamond scores a 1.3 but the crown angle of 35.5 would rule this one out for a lot of people. The recommended range is somewhere around:
Table: 55-58% (56-57 preferred)
Crown: 34-35* (34.5 preferred)
Pavilion: 40.6-41* (40.8 preferred)
Depth: 61-62%

Most people won’t be able to tell the difference between an F and a D and a VS1 and a VVS1. Unless you have cultural reasons for going that high, your money is better spent improving the cut and size of the diamond. Cut should be the most important. A G color with a super ideal cut will reflect tons of light and you wont se any color in the diamond. With your budget a G VS1 or VS2 super ideal or near super ideal cut would be a good mark to aim for. Whiteflash is a good place to buy if you want all the info up front and to be able to pick the diamond and be done. They have some great options in your range in the in house stuff. You always want an idealscope, and an ASET at minimum even if you can see it in person. A hearts image is also very useful.

I would respectfully disagree about the 35.5 crown ruling out the above diamond. There are plenty of great 35.5/40.6 combo diamonds out there that perform wonderfully, and many people on this site prefer higher crown angle diamonds for their firey appearance. Also, a depth of up to 62.3% is perfectly fine, and sometimes the depth can even go higher without exhibiting leakage, especially in higher crown/shallower pavilion angle diamonds (I've seen ASET and IS images on this site that look excellent in diamonds with 62.5% depth).

However, the D VVS1 in question, while likely fine from a cut standpoint, is still overpriced. I simply point out the above so the OP is not unnecessarily limiting the scope of his/her search.

To the OP, definitely compare prices on all of the online vendors and find a clarity/color compromise that you're willing to live with. There are plenty of people, even on this site, who go for higher color and clarity simply as a preference, but know that you really won't see a difference in color above F (or more likely G) or in clarity above VS1 (or VS2/SI1s that are "eye clean" without any visible inclusions near the surface of the table).

With WF stones VS2 and below, you really need to ask about the inclusions though, as their spotlighting videos make it almost impossible to see what a diamond would look like under normal lighting. The WF reps are very helpful though and will gladly take close-up photos in normal lighting of any diamond for you.

^thanks for setting that straight, I’m no expert. I was more saying in reference to the price of the specific diamond, those angles could rule it out for some people with the diamond being priced a bit high, and tried to offer some diamonds in his price range that have idealscope and ASET images already posted.
