I don''t know if I''ve lost weight or if the cold weather has substantially shrunken my fingers, but my diamond solitaire e-ring is always tipping over. The ring is a size 4, but should probably be a 3.5-3.75. So I''ve been thinking a lot about spinning rings lately!

I hate hate hate spinning and was planning on getting a diamond eternity band as my wedding ring so I wouldn''t have that issue. But I''ve been really taken with the 5 stone rings lately. Does it have a spin issue? Did you get it fit very snugly to avoid spin, or do the way the five diamonds are set help negate spin?

If the 5-stone rings have a spin issue, then I will just go for the eternity although I''m itching for a 2.5 ctw 5-stone at this point.

Here is kcoursolle''s beautiful ring:

I love having a five stone for exactly the reason you are asking about. Because of the finger coverage, it doesn''t spin at all!! Good luck deciding.

Mine spins. Not all the way around but it does spin. It would be better if it was tight but I hate really tight rings.

My 5 stone doesn''t spin. I have it the same size as other rings that are sized for that finger. I think the fact that the diamonds are spread evenly over the top, it helps with the spinning.

Mine hardly ever spends. Occasionally I will find it a little off-center. I think if you are going 2.5 ctw (and you get the right size) the chances
of yours spinning would be slim (due to the nature of the 5 stones sitting up and your side fingers blocking the spinning).

Mine spins over to my pinky during every month except July, August and September.

Mine never spins - the finger coverage/how much the stones stick out keep it in place really nicely.

Your ring is gorgeous. I don''t have a 5 stone ring but all of my rings seem to spin.

Great topic. I''d love to have a 5 stone someday. What a great look! Spinning can be annoying though!

Neatfreak, I LOVE your ring. Do you have the same setting as Ebree? (I love hers too!) It is just the perfect proportions and such a great side profile. Do you wear it with your cushion or on its own?

Mine spins and it is a Euro shank! I probably need to have it sized down again since I have lost more weight...

mine is a 1 ct. 5 stone and the only time it moves is when I wear it with my eternity band. It kinda moves with the eternity band.

Thanks TDM. It is very similar to Ebree''s except mine has more of a taper from the end of the stones to the band so the band flows more into the prongs of the last stones. My stones are also OEC''s/transitionals.

I don''t wear it with my cushion-I wear it alone.

My Nightingale does not spin at all. It fits snuggly plus I think the curve of it really helps. The 5 stones is perfect finger coverage.

Mine doesn''t spin either. I think it depends on (1) how much your fingers shrink in the cold weather and (2) how you size the ring. If you size it "loosely" (i.e. so that you can easily slide the ring on and off no matter what the weather is), there is a higher chance of it spinning. If you size it snugly (but this may mean that it is difficult to take off when your hands are very warm), it probably won''t spin.

From your question, it seems that you like the continuity of an eternity band. When your hand is open so there is space between your fingers (e.g. the way they look when you''re typing), you''ll be able to see that a 5 stone ring isn''t an eternity ring because there will be a little bit of the plain band visible on either side of your ring finger. You have a *tiny* finger, but I think you''ll still see a little bit of the band on the side when your fingers are spread out - even with 40 point stones (which will look huge and gorgeous anyway!). For example, the difference in width between 33 point stones and 40 point stones is about 1 additional millimeter in finger coverage across. So if you really want an eternity band kind of look but with larger stones, you could also consider a 7 stone diamond ring.

All that being said, I really like the fact that the 5 stone bands are bold and sparkly, but also elegant.

Ditto. Mine all spin to some degree, even my little bezel band.
