Hey everyone, I'm thinking of purchasing my 5stone ring soon and have chosen a vendor. Now I'm trying to decide whether to go for a 1 tcw vs a 1.25tcw. Now iv read some threads including the 5 stone thread and a lot of people are for bigger is better but I'm worried that the bigger stones of 0.25 will overspill.
What do you think, 0.20 pointers vs 0.25 pointers?
This will be a stand alone RHR.

Thanks in advance. :)

Anyone? :)

go try one on and decide how it looks on your finger. You might have to go to several local stores. even if you see a CZ one at least you can see the coverage..What are the specs on the stones you are looking at. That may also play roll if you can have ideal cut stones in the larger size and you like the spread then go for it. If you have budget issues go for smaller stones that are cut better. Just some food for thought

i have size 4 finger, and my plan for 5-stone ring is 0.14 - 0.23 - 0.38 - 0.23 - 0.14 if I'm ever going to execute my plan... :naughty:

Well there both excellent cut, g colour and vs2 clarity. Originally 0.25 pointers would be our of my budget but I'm willing to pay extra of I get the wow factor. I just don't want to regret getting the smaller stones later, but at the warm time I don't want them looking too big and going over the end of the finger width.

Zah, I would consider how you are planning to wear this ring, as in everyday or just special occasions.. if I were to wear it every day I would go with the smaller stones and special occasions, I'd go with the bigger stones.. just my preference. I think no matter what often smaller stones do not catch as easily and are easier to do daily activities with.. that said.... Bling is always a consideration, bigger is better 8)

So many mistakes in my previous post! Sorry about that.
This will be an everyday ring, the main reason is that I got promoted earlier this year and havnt treated myself and I feel now is the time!
I don't want to upgrade the ring later or have it sit in my jewellery box, I want to wear it as much as possible.

I just don't want 'spillage' on the side of the fingers. But I'm swaying towards the 0.25

I had a 1tcw 5 stone on a size 4.5 and thought it looked small actually so I'd go with the larger stones.

Hehe, don't worry too much about spillage, I'm currently fitting over 2cts on my size 4.5 finger!

I think I'm going to get the 1.25tcw!

Good choice. I wear 4.25 and I have a 5-stone with .20's that I wear with my ER. If it's a standalone ring, I'm sure you can go with .25s.

Do you have a picture of your ring :) ?

I would say .25's. Many people here with slightly larger fingers use 30 pointers and up. I would think you'd be fine with 25 pointers, and you might be sorry later if you went too small. I have a 1 ctw 5 stone vintage band and definitely would get a larger one for myself.

Love your both your rings!
I'm defo going with the 25pointers!!
Thanks for the pic!

Finally ordered my 5 stone ring! And it arrived today! Love it. Will post pictures later! :) I went with the 1.25tcw!

Can't wait to see!
