no returns policy ... what looks like shill bidding ... a seller that sells everything under the sun (looks like a network of pawn shops) ... do the math

FYI, Tiffany is currently suing ebay because of the amount of fake Tiffany stuff being sold. They estimate that 90%+ is bogus.

Thank you CaptAubrey. Too good to be true.

5 carat Emerald with no inclusions visible is almost certain to be a synthetic. Hard to believe they allow no returns, most likely are best avoided.

sorry to be negative but it looks like expensive glass to me.....and the diamonds don''t look like they''re great.

And it sold for $3800.

still looks like glass to me......hopefully, the buyer will have it tested and appraised and be completely thrilled with the results. and congrats to the buyer if indeed it is a real emerald and the diamonds are top notch because that would be one great buy.

My guess that it is a real emerald, but very unattractive in person. Almost none of the pics are head on, and the one that is, the center is dark (huge window? Dark inclusions?) because returns are allowed if it is grossly misadvertised (a sim in place of a real emerald would fit that).
However I would be curious what the high bidder would find out if the piece was appraised, if a) emerald real or not b) if real emerald the treatments, quality of emerald c) if it truly is a Tiffany piece (highly doubt) along with d) examination of setting (gold or vermeil, accent stones sims or quality if diamond, etc).

I would avoid it as well. I like to wait and see if an item I liked that has been sold gets feedback from the buyer before I trust a seller. Recently a ring I liked sold for more than I thought it was worth, and I thought it was shill bidding. 2 weeks later and no feedback from the buyer. Hmmmm......

Ebay has some sweet deals though. I bought an Alexandrite for $700 that appraised for $5800 and has some intense color change. It''s a gamble and I only play what I can afford to lose.

Regards,
Lisa
