I'm back again obsessing over the anniversary ring. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Assuming the setting is very low, shared double prong, would you go for 5 .4 stones or 7 .3 stones on a 4.25 sized ring? I love LLJ's (and PierreBear's!) 5 stone, and definitely want the defined scalloped look. Truth be told Demelza's old ring is my fantasy land ring, but I'm afraid I don't have the finger real estate to carry off something quite like that... or the budget :rolleyes2:

So what would you choose? A definite 5 stone like the gorgeous ones above, or get smaller stones to extend the look to more of an eternity?

How big is your engagement ring? I went to try on 5 and 7 stone rings and even wearing it as a right hand ring some of them seemed to overpower my engagement ring. If you have a fairly large engagement ring I would go with the 5 stone. Otherwise if it takes too much attention away from it I would go the 7 :)

Hey ratatat! I probably should have specified-I'm going to be wearing this as a right hand ring. But my engagement ring is a 1 carat oval in a halo (it's been 10 years so the details after that are quite fuzzy, haha!)

I would think you would get full finger coverage with either of them. If you are looking for a blingier look go with the 5 stone 40 pointers. If you want
a more subdued look (yet still big in my book) go with the 30 pointers. Personally, I think a 5 stone 30 pointers would be more in-line with your ering
but I dont know what you're looking to accomplish...

5 stones with 30-35 pointers will fit your finger best. Even a size 6 wouldn't need 7 stones at that size. I could probably manage 5 40 pointers on my right hand, but I wear a 6.25 on that hand.

I couldn't vote in the poll because I know 7 30 pointers wouldn't be comfortable because it would wrap around the side of your finger, and 40 pointers might be a little much. I also think the 5 40 pointers will maybe overshadow your e-ring. 5 30 pointers really makes more sense to me in terms of fitting your finger and balancing with your wedding set.

I second @tyty333 suggestion of 5 x 30pt, that will give you plenty of coverage. It is actually my favorite size for a 5 stone even for my 5.25 ring size, so it will give you plenty of coverage.

Not going to lie, I love a good consensus! I've chosen exactly one ring in my life before this one (my e-ring) and it came from eBay. Thanks Ratatat, DiamondSeeker, Tyty, and Simone! I'll stick with getting quotes for the 5 .3s. Maybe it'll save some money to put towards a future diamond project :lol-2:

All this waffling about trying to make a decision has let me see all sorts of beautiful rings from the people on this site...and now I want them all, haha!
