Ok! My budget is $5000 CAD or $3850 USD. We’re celebrating my husband’s new permanent job and it’s burning a hole in my pocket! The trouble is, I feel like I don’t know what I want but I would know it when I saw it. Maybe you guys can help me with some ideas. Do you like ring pictures? LOL

THINGS I LIKE:

-platinum
-yellow diamonds
-white diamonds
-big diamonds
-wide bands or things that take up a lot of finger space as I have long fingers
-size 5
-epic deals or upgrade policies
-classic OR edgy
-resale value (I have diamond ADD)

Yep. So what would you get if you were me? I want it to be a ring. I like the idea of custom but practically speaking it’s better if I can see exactly what I’m getting, AND to have a return policy. I live in Canada. I like preloved for the savings angle. But I also like places with really good upgrade policies. I don’t mind lower colour stones. I like vintage and antique and superideals. I’m all over the place! But I’ve come to terms with the fact that I’m a collector.

Maybe a twin stone ring with yours & hubby's birthstones or even just diamonds (one yellow & one white) to commemorate you both.
 
Have you checked ivy and rose...leaves about $400 for a setting. I would ask for a video if interested. Not sure if they do asets.

Lower color round...I would talk to Yuketial if you decide to go this route. Not perfect numbers but
gets you to 6.75mm. Leaves $400+ for a setting. Ask for an idealscope if interested so we can see

Btw I looked long and hard at the purple sapphire yellow gold beauty that cvb had on LT recently... wow. But not exactly what I’m looking for.

Ok. I know what I'm going to do now!

I have two 0.50ct rounds. I'm going to make a three stone with those on either side. Now what kind of massive monster can I put in the middle? I only have about $2k for the middle... eeps! That's including tax, shipping, etc.
 
@pearaffair I'd ask the folks in colored stones for help finding a great CS (e.g., your's or hubby's birthstone, or any color that just moves you). I think you might be able to find a great CS in a nice size for your budget that would look fantastic! :wavey:
 
Are the two rounds you have .50ct each or total? What are their dimensions?

Since you mentioned you also like yellow diamonds ... these are not 'massive' but - if set in YG with the rest of the ring in platinum - these would probably look a bit bigger visually.

The two rounds are 0.50ct each. One is a D SI1 superideal and one is a G/H SI1 who knows about the cut but it is not superideal.

Oh baby I am loving the idea of a three stone with a yummy yellow diamond in the centre!!

:appl:I think it’d be stunning! Maybe you could do a double bezel in YG on the center diamond to give it a little more oomph-age in size visually.
 
@pearaffair I put the largest yellow diamond I found from DBL (in your budget) with two diamonds that are 5mm (based on .50 ct each) ‘to scale’ as best I could so you can visualize how they may look together.

I had a good chat with @Niel and she helped me think out some options. I’m thinking an elongated cushion zircon or blue topaz could look rad. But I’m all over the place...
