35/40.7 combination? Need to make a very quick decision!

As some of you know, I have these three diamonds on hold until 1PM today. Looking through WF inventory, I haven't been able to find crown angles above 34.9 with the exception of two of the diamonds I have on hold (OK, I haven't looked at every diamond in the WF inventory but I have looked at quite a few) Most diamonds with pavilion angles of 40.7 have crown angles of 34.8. The two diamonds I am most interested in have crown angles of 35 and pavilion angles of 40.7. I seem to recall reading that a super ideal cut diamond should have a crown angle of between 34.3-34.8 and a pavilion angle between 40.6-40.9 degrees. While I certain WF has strict criteria for their ACA, I am a bit confused.
I have never purchased a diamond online and I am definitely feeling a little stressed!

34.3-34.8 sounds like Todd Gray of Niceice.
Experts and vendors may have different definitions and opinions on "super ideal cut".
For some, the ideal crown range is 34.3-34.8.
For WF, it is 34-35.
For GOG, it is 34-34.9.

A tolkowsky ideal cut diamond has 34.5 crown and 40.75 pavillion; very specific.

Can't recall where I read the stats for an ideal diamond, but I remembered the suggested crown angle/pavilion numbers. It looks like WF generally follows those guidelines because I have looked at more diamonds from WF's inventory than I can count, but I cannot find any other diamonds with 35 degree angles - except the ones I have on hold!

Thank you for the info. Much appreciated. I reached out to WF a few weeks ago but there were slim pickings. Just this week new diamonds arrived and three met my criteria (no dark inclusions, H color/VS clarity). Two of the diamonds were so new that the certificates and some of the images were missing. H & A images were just added late today! Since these are ACA diamonds I didn't really pay attention to the stats until very late today. I noticed the 35 degree crown angles. Took me by surprise and had me wondering.

Nothing wrong with 35 crowns. Lots of diamonds with 35.5 / 40.6 combo that are also beautiful too. You have ACA guarantee to the diamonds and beautiful reflector images. Don't worry about it

Thanks gm89uk.

Whiteflash ACAs are consistently excellent. I would be more than thrilled to have an ACA with a 35 degree crown angle. Look at the ASET. It will be perfect. That's more important than a number. All ACAs are cut within very tight parameters.

Thanks Diamondseeker.
You are one the Pricescoper who led me to WF. WF has really impressed me. So far, the service has been stellar. Hope to have some great pix to post in the near future.

I just bought a diamond from WF, 35 degree crown, 40.7 degree pavilion angle, ACA.

Tyty approved it then, so I would believe your choices are good. Here's the thing though. Angles are one thing, but the ASET image, H&A images, and AGS certificate together tell a much better story than angles alone.

Good luck!

Thanks. Hoping to be very happy. I ordered a six prong martini setting in 18kt white gold and the earrings should be arriving on or a little before February 20th.
