30th Anniversary Upgrade!!!

Next month is our wedding anniversary (30 WONDERFUL years)--yes, with the SAME man!!!
My dear hubby has suggested that he would like to either uograde my diamond stud earrings (3tcw --1.5 each) or upgrade my diamond engagement ring ( 3 carat emerald cut stone).
I really can''t decide!!!
What should I do?

P.S. I think I am a diamond addict-- what are the symptoms???

After 30 years you deserve both, LOL! But... if you''re going to chose one or other other I say go for the e-ring. You can always weasel some earrings in another time for a different reason, but it would be kind of nice to do the e-ring on a significant anniversary.

Are the sizes you listed the current sizes, or what the items would be upgraded to? I think 1.5 carats per ear is a very nice size and would not upgrade those. If you really want to upgrade a current item, then I would choose the ring, but that also sounds like a nice size. (Not sure if you want to upgrade some quality other than size, like color, clarity, cut or shape.) Personally, I would go for a whole new piece of jewelry, like a pendant, RHR, great strand of pearls, etc.

I would like to upgrade the earrings to about 3 carats per ear--too big? I told you i was an addict!
for the e-cut stone-- about 5 carats--it has been 30 years after all!!!

A guy voting here, but I too vote for the e-ring. Upgrading your ring means you''ll see the stone smiling up at you all the time. While earrings might be nice, but you''ll only see them from your reflection in the mirror. They may sparkle like crazy for others to see, but you won''t see them.

Yes, an emerald cut in 5 cts. would be very nice! I do not like round diamond studs larger than the ones you already have. So other than upgrading the e-ring, I''d get another piece of jewelry.

Oh....it's always so exciting to hear of someone contemplating getting a new honker...we all SO MUCH love our vicarious thrills!

I guess it's a matter of personal taste, but for me 3 carat RB studs would be too much. Besides....you can't really enjoy them when you're wearing them. Obviously I vote for a new Ering. Perfect way to honor thirty wonderful years.

What kind of EC are you dreaming of? Square (asscher)?? Rectangular??

Wow!! Looks like the new e-ring is definitely the winner!
You are right-- i could only see the new earrings when I look in the mirror.
I do get such pleasure from looking at my e-ring now--obviously one of the symptoms of a DIAMOND ADDICT!!!
As for pictures--my hubby is working on that and as soon as he figures out how to put the digital camera and computer together-- we will be in business!!
