3-stone ring with Peridot, Emerald, and Tourmaline?

I would like to design a 3-stone mens ring with 3 round or asscher cut stones with the birthstones of mine, my wife's, and daughter's birthstones - tourmaline, peridot, and emerald.
Can anyone give me any ideas as to how I could make this combination work? The tourmaline could be any of its several colors, but I just can't envision the emerald and peridot working well together at all. Any ideas?

Hi, Tourmaline also comes in green, so I’d do all green.
I envisage a gypsy style ring (that’s flush set into the gold) with 3 x 4mm round gems, alternatively you could do 3 different shapes as well, again flush set ie a round, a baguette and a trillion cut.
I’d do the ring in 14kt or 18kt yellow or rose gold. To be really “in the theme” there is also a greenish gold too.

I assume the peridot is for August. Did you know that spinel is now also a birthstone for August? Considering spinel would open you up to more color options.

3 shades of green would look aweome imho and in green gold too if you want to do something different with the metal

I too favour the 3-stone Gypsy/rub over setting, however I would personally go for a pink red Tourmaline like a Rubellite or a purple one and place it in the middle, flanked by two green stones.
This is a ring design/setting that I like, however I believe it will work better with a larger centre stone and not three stones of similar size and shape myself.

I really like pink red tourmaline and since it is My birthstone it could be the larger center stone. I like this idea a lot.

Have same issue as one daughter is a peridot and the other an emerald. Super hard to put together. I agree that a gypsy ring with smaller stones is the way to go. The tourmaline may be the unifying gem that may make it work and keeping it in the green family may be your best bet. The color of the metal will influence the look as well. Keep us posted.

Hi - you may have missed my earlier post. From your original choice of stones, I assume the brithdays are in October, May and August

Like peridot, spinel is an official (although newer) birthstone for August (just like you could substitute opal for tourmaline as the birthstone for October).

Some options instead of going all-green might include:
Black opal (October) center with Emerald (May) and Blue Spinel (August)
Blue Tourmaline (October) with Emerald (May) and Pink/Red Spinel (August)
...and so on.

Not that there is anything wrong with using peridot, tourmaline and Emerald -especially if you want to stick with the traditional more familiar stones- but wanted to let you know there are other options than going all green.
