Hi team,
I’m looking for a lab grown round brilliant.. I’ve been a longtime lurker, but the time has finally come.. and I’m petrified!
I’ve reached out to Distinctive Gem + their diamond concierge service to help pick some options from James Allen, and I’m not sure how long that process will take.. In the meanwhile, I’m checking out stones on Novita (Aussie site) to see what we have locally.. and it doesn’t seem like a huge amount. I’ve picked a couple that I quite like, and may ask them to bring into the ADL office for me to look at in person, and assess with my ASET, but I’d be curious to hear opinions first.
First up:
1.22 G VS2, which doesn’t list blue nuance on the certificate.. but it seems to be reflecting an awful lot of blue in the pic! It gets a 1.2 on the HCA.
Next, we have
1.36 G VS2, scoring a 0.9 on the HCA, with what appears to be some stria- I wonder if these would be visible in person?
Lastly, there’s a 1.24 G VS2 (I promise I’m open to different combos, this just seems to be what has worked best so far!), with a 2.1 on the HCA
I’m wondering if there are any that you guys prefer in particular, and if so, why?
I’m hoping to hear back from Jon soon - I’m surprised that my research hasn’t made me more confident, if anything it’s made me more cautious knowing how challenging picking a good stone can be! I can find settings at both JA and Novita that I like, although Novita is slightly cheaper and with the option of seeing the stones in person, whilst JA has the advantage of Jon / diamond concierge vetting a couple first.. Tough choice!
Thanks,
Adele
