vintagelover, how far are you from Adam's shop? Maybe you could tag along with me when I see it... two eyes are better than one! We could take some additional pictures too if Adam lets us. :naughty:

Just let me know, we could have a mini PS GTG.

I'm a little over an hour from Barrie. We are getting another vehicle on May 13th otherwise we'd need to carpool with a car seat 8)

I'm game though either way :) My husband commutes during the week though so until then I won't have a car. Speaking of G2G we're planning one for Vineland estates winery in Aug. that there is going to be a poll for dates-you should go to that one too!

Btw I'm near the newmarket area.

LOL I created the poll for the GTA GTG... so I'm going! ;))

I live in Whitby but work in North York. We can carpool or meet there, it would be fun! Adam is going to contact me when he has the stone back from GIA.

omg i knew that but totally spaced-der me  . Ill message you tomorrow-little mans napping on my lap then a late dinner and bed. we were in whitby yesterday looking at bikes for my dh but its quite the drive for us. my dh also works in north york but the store closes at 5/6 during the week. we will figure it out though :appl:
By the way - you can send me a message on eBay, my user ID is two*little*birds there. ;))

I sent you an ebay message yesterday-let me know if you got it ::)

If you love the stone, you should get it. But an I SI1 is worth more to me than a J VS2. A higher color that is eye clean would be more appealing to me and worth more. Interesting that he thinks a J VS2 is worth more.

Good luck...hope its the one.

Thanks Ariel,
I did really like the stone - I am so glad there is at least someone out there that actually gets it. The whole gist of the dispute with me was that I expecting to be buying an "I" colour and when it came back that it was lower I was disappointed and then the price stayed the same and might I add went up for everyone else. I have been trying to see it from his POV because some of you out there are saying that a "J" VS2 is worth more, he is saying that a "J" VS2 is worth more, but I think when you are exceedingly colour sensitive like I am and I didn't care one way or the other about the clarity provided it was eyeclean, it was disappointing.

For everyone else;
Take some more pics if you go and see it.

vintagelover, I never got your message :(

However I did get a message from charmypoo which I just replied to :wink2:

arkieb1, if Adam let's me, I will take lots of photos. :D

I never got your reply!

Adam sent me an e-mail stating the stone is back, along with a copy of the GIA certificate.

Hmmm, the girdle is marked extremely thin to thin.

My girdle is thin to extremely thin also but my setting protects it. If you choose a setting that protects the girdle you should be fine but definitely ask the seller what his bench thinks regarding this. If you want a setting that is not protective you might want to rehab the girdle.

Very nice-looking stone!

If you are fussy the girdle currently needs a re-polish, unless you are putting it into a bezel or octagonal setting then I wouldn't bother. It needs to go into a setting with some sort protection, because of the thin girdle. He told me the chip/s could be hidden strategically by prongs.

Yup, going to send Adam an e-mail shortly. I don't want to extra work of a rehab / polish, especially at that price already. Plus I know I said it before, but I'm looking for a bigger stone. Would have loved to see it in person, but driving 1 1/2 hours just isn't worth it for me.

I know this thread is over a year old but I have been reading OEC threads and the diamond is still for sale on their website. But now at $42K. I'd think after a year it would have come down, not go up.

If diamond prices have gone up over the past year as a whole this diamond's price will too. It's not less valuable and diamonds don't really go on sale just because they've been in inventory for a while. It just hasn't found a home yet.

I understand! I guess I was more astounded by all the issues about the manner in which color and price was laid out in the thread and with all that went with it the diamond is still sitting there with an even higher price tag. A bird in the hand and all....
