So, I am looking at some petite eternity bands, maybe a pink sapphire and diamond, round, shared prong, from whiteflash or sp.

I plan to get a larger stone eternity band one of these days(years) but can consider a smaller carat weight one for now, so I am thinking full eternity or 3/4? I have five kids and would wear it often, although not around the house while doing chores, which is frequent, so it will not be worn 24/7.

Are the 3/4 eternity bands comfy? Any opinions from wearers will be appreciated.

Happy Holidays to all. I love this time of year and we are patiently waiting snowflurries this week in Michigan

I have a 3/4 eternity which I really like except I wish I had gotten a full eternity. Mine is from Whiteflash, shared prong, and the stones are gorgeous and it sparkles very nicely. I am in my "later-middle" years and done with kids so I am not worried about my ring size changing.

Can I throw out another suggestion? A five stone band (all diamond or alternating pink/white). It can symbolize your five children, and the diamonds don't go all the way around so it doesn't need to be removed for (most) chores. Later, you can use the diamonds to create your larger stone eternity band.

Just an idea.

The band on my e-ring is eternity and I LOVE IT! I don''t regret for a second going with eternity. I think the look is so classy and elegant and I never have worry about the spinning issue which would drive me bonkers.
My e-ring is from WF and it is shared prong and I plan for my w-band to be the same, eternity shared prong. I don''t find it uncomfortable to wear at all and I wear mine all the time to work and school but not to do chores of course.
I don''t have any kids and I was told that since I am young and have yet to have kids that my size may change etc and that I should go with 3/4 eternity but I really, really wanted the eternity just the word means so much to me and the stones all around look just gorgeous. I love seeing the bit of sparkle when I turn my hand and people always compliment me on the fact that the band is eternity.
So YES I would totally recommend going with eternity.

How exciting that you are getting a new band!

I have a true 3/4 and love it. I dont worry about the diamonds on the underside hitting benches, tables etc and knocking prongs or diamonds. it is all smooth on the underside, so more comfy for me when doing things eg driving. and should I need to in years to come can resize.

sorry for the rush, but it doesnt spin and i love it.

Just a quick add on, can you buy some cheapie costume ones to see how you like the feel of a full one v a 3/4.?

Love this idea!

I like an eternity band if the fit is perfect, but if you foresee things in your future changing your size (kids (with a 21 year old, I doubt ;-) ), general health issues, etc), I''d go with the 3/4.
I have both, and most of the time I love my full bands because no matter how much the ring spins, there are only stones showing. 3/4 isn''t bad, and usually looks great, I''m just a little obsessive about keeping my rings straight.

Love this idea!

Ditto this! I think a 5-stone is both elegant and practical, not to mention, in your case, nicely symbolic!

I am actually waiting for a five stone(probably .50-.60 pointers) for most likely my 25th anniversary, in about 2 years. That has been the plan and I nixed it last year when we moved and bought a new home and I had inside out diamond hoops made and felt the $ was better spent going toward the house than more bling(boy, that was a dumb thought). I already own a 7 stone channel set pink sapphire and diamond princess cut ring I bought in St. Thomas when pg with #4, so I wanted a different "look" and frankly want something less pricey right now. I really love the idea of a full eternity but there''s a little practical voice inside of me saying 3/4 would be a good idea. Lordy, with a 21yr old and a 4yr old and 3 in between, I WISH my size would change! Thanks for your opinions...will keep thinking...

I really think that 3/4s are the best of both worlds - you get the ease of resizing (to a degree) and you don''t have to worry about scratching up the diamonds on the very bottom of your palm, but you also get the look of a full eternity with give for a little spinning.

Full eternities are gorgeous and definitely look better when displayed in the jewellery box, but they''re not nearly as practical, for the most part.
