3.01ct Red Mahenge spinel off to be set in it's new home.

I posted a few photos of my stone in the "show us your mahenge" thread, but I thought I'd give her, her own thread before she's set.

Stats: 3.01ct - 8.03mm red mahenge spinel purchase from Prima Gems. I got a few more photos of her before I packaged her up and shipped her to California today - still not great photos, but better than the others. The one that looks a bit orange (it's not) is because the lights in my office are recessed incandencent lights and they are very yellow. The stone is a tad bit lighter than it looks in a couple of the photos, but the color is spot on in the first two photos. (at least on my monitor)

I found a setting I wanted at Andrew Sarosi's booth at Intergem and so she's off to CA to be fitted for her new home!

Thanks ladies, I am excited to see it set. The setting I chose has components of many rings I really like, so I'm hoping it all comes together. Btw, I just reread my first post and the stone is 8.3mm not 8.03mm.

The photo "rb mahenge 3" is just gorgeous - it looks like a mini volcano, so rich and warm. WOW. What's the setting like?

Thanks for all the nice comments. The setting is one that Andrew Sarosi designed. I checked out the sites where he has some of his rings and it's not there, so no links I can share. BUT, I do have a collage of rings that are my inspiration rings. I think you can see a theme going on as far as the overall shape The Sarosi ring is not a halo (which I didn't want because I have several halos) but it is a similar shape to the halo rings in the collage and it does have side diamonds that are larger than the surrounding diamonds (if that makes sense). It will have 1.35ctw of F-VS diamonds.

The stone will definitely be the center piece and the diamonds will just surround it in sparkle (not much metal showing).
