3.00ctw OEC earrings

I have wanted some larger earrings for quite some time. Debated back and forth between OECs and RBs. Grace had just gotten this pair while in Vegas and she wore them to the PS GTG I tried them on and well, what else could I do?

The settings are platinum and original to the period, stones are 7.5mm each, estimated at L/M which I agree with. Next to my GIA M OEC they are a perfect match in color.

My desire truly is for studs, so do I have them reset or leave them alone?

Regarding those GORGEOUS OEC, My personal preference is to LEAVE THEM THE WAY THEY ARE !!!!

I really do think they suit your ears perfectly and are just a bit different than the
ubiquitous studs that everyone wears....

And your earlobes aren't thin and stretched out like mine, so they really do
look beautiful on you !!!
and what a coup that they match that wonderful ring...... sigh.....

Personally, I would leave them as they are. I think they look just right on your ears as they are, and I love original jewelry. Perhaps pick a time period and if they haven't completely grown on you and you still want studs, then change. Perhaps 6 months?

They look like beautiful stones and the current mounting is rather unique IMO due to the length they fall at the bottom of your lobe.

However, I too would be more in the stud camp and would have them reset - gonna be some major ear bling!!

Wow, BrightIce, those are fabulous!!! I can't even put into words how much I love them. Personally, I like the setting so much more than studs. You will get so much more flash and fire with them set just off your ear lobe. But if your heart says they must be studs, then that is what they should be. Let me just say, that oh-my-gosh, they look stunning on you and with your ring too. Love the ring. Every time I see it I want a re-set. Love love love.

Not that it would affect your decision at all ... but have you seen the legendary Sarah Jessica Parker photos of her giant diamond earrings exactly like that?

To my eye they're so much more interesting & stylish & flattering than regular old honkin studs. Also influenced by the time Issac Mizrahi told me that earring *movement* around the face makes everyone look younger. The type of settings you have now offer a bit more movement and opportunity for sparkle than clamped on studs would.

I think you should wear them like that for a solid year & if you *still* want to reset them - go for it.

I didn't know about Parker's drop earrings but I looked them up and you are right. I most likely will leave them as is

I think they look absolutely gorgeous on you as is, but I definitely understand your desire for studs(I'm a stud girl too). If it were me, I would look into turning them into studs. I love the detailing on the baskets. Do you think they will be able to use the current basket the diamonds are in, removing the lever back and attaching the posts?

Wow, absolutely gorgeous and they look amazing on your ears!!! If it was me, I would leave them as is. I think there's nothing more beautiful than dangly earrings that move and can catch all the light.
