Ooh, please do pass along the dark circle info! I have bad ones too, and I always have! When I was a little baby I seriously had dark circles! I actually used to use Aveda pressed powder but I switched back to my Cover Girl powder. I''ll have to try the loose powder, though.

Yeah, I''d be scared to ask how old she thought you were, too! So rude! Your story made me think of my own old story: one time I was flying out of LAX with my coworker and this weird guy and his wife started chatting with us. I''m 5''8'' and my coworker is probably 5'', but only a few years younger than me. The guy told us that he thought I was her MOTHER and she was my DAUGHTER!
23.gif
It was so insane I completely just shrugged it off. And his wife was pretty embarrassed. I think I was like 24 or 25 at the time and she was around 21! And I swear I don''t look that old and she doesn''t look that young! I just stopped chatting with him after that.

Sorry, thread jack over. But yikes! Haven''t these people ever learned basic social skills?!

I will pass on
2.gif
I feel your pain. Your story is like... WOW. His wife probably smacked him upside the head when you all turned your backs. I didn''t notice a threadjack, just a natural conversational progression. And... no, I don''t think they have learned basic social skills.

Violet, I''m not sure about the traveling as the subject didn''t come up, but if you email her she''s good about answering. You are a beautiful woman, so I can''t imagine your trial being terrible! Will you post pics (or email them to me...lol). I''d love to see. It is worth it. We just won''t mention the cost to John again. At all. LOL.
I will post pics for sure or send them to you at least :D

I'm feeling like that odd-man-out in a group of people, you know, the one who clearly doesn't fit in but they allow him to stick around anyway.
2.gif
Um. Haven. I mean this as seriously as I have ever been. Did you fall and crack your head? You are one of the most beautiful women on here, hands down. I swear to God, I got these pics and hesitated putting them up thinking, 'Well, I'm no Haven... but I'm me and they'll kill me if I don't post my wedding pics, so we might as well get the face thing over with now.' I swear. Odd man out? Only cause you set the standard honey.

That's the sweetest thing ever, Gypsy, thank you. I'm blushing but I don't know how to make my text red to show it.

You're truly beautiful. I'm so glad you finally showed your face on PS. Perhaps it's hard for us to see the beauty in ourselves, but sugar, I can see yours, and it is glowing. Like I said, I cannot wait to see your wedding pictures, they are going to be STUNNING.
You and Haven crack me up... You're both gorgeous. And I think what makes you more gorgeous is your awesome personalities and how smart the two of you are. That shines through more than anything. I don't have to know what you look like to know you're beautiful just by the posts you write (both of you!). (and i'm not a smooch butt so that was sincere!) In fact (minor threadjack) when I was 5 I asked for the salt and pepper and my dad said, 'say please' and I said 'please and thank you are for butt kissers!'. And that's been me every since, LOL.

It''s still like leather in parts swingirl. I swear. I''ve got these weird super dry patches still. It''s the airbrushing!!! LOVE the airbrushing. Looks good in person too, and doesn''t feel as heavy as ''normal'' makeup. The OMG is gratifying as you''ve seen me in person. *snort* Quite the difference, eh?
31.gif

Ha Ha! Not to say you aren''t a beauty in person but...who looks their best after shlepping around on a hot day!! You definitely have smooth skin and such pretty eyes on my screen. I''m sure the dryness will be gone in time!!!

Okay. So THAT is the sweetest thing ever. Butt kisser *smirk* (your gonna be regret sharing that bit of information

) Thank you Violet.

I have to say, ditto. You've been an amazing wedding planning partner... I'm so glad you are on here Violet.

(We're all getting too emotional and pretty soon T-gal or Deco or someone is gonna come in here and kick butt if we don't break this up though.)

THANK YOU SWINGIRL! I hope that in person, on my wedding day, it looks as good as it does on here.

oh your hair is so nice and thick! the makeup looks soft yet enhances your natural beauty! I cant wait to see the whole bridal look in your wedding photos!

beautiful

Great trial run ... gorgeous result! Someone else was considering your new hair option too -- I veto''d then but I think it could work beautifully with your facial structure. (Your forehead isn''t too long for it yanno?) Either way -- you''re gonna be a knock out! YAY! ALMOST THERE!!!

Gypsy, you are seriously a knock out! Holy Moly...

Thanks for the makeup review. I have a makeup trial scheduled for later this week. If it doesn''t work out I''m going to contact Maria Chang. She''s good friends with my wedding coordinator so she would definitely work well with us.

Does she have a policy on how far out you can book her? As in not more than 6 mos before the wedding?

Makeup is a really really important aspect for me since I wear it a lot. I hope my girl works out fine, she''s supposed to be good. I''m more worried about the hair to be honest. If she doesn''t I''ll call yours but I bet I lose my deposit with my girl if I had to. Sigh.

I bet Carmel is too far for her too.

DREAM beautiful bride Gyp!

A request for all of you in or near the Bay Area with make-up trials coming up....I seriously cannot afford Maria Chang

but would love to know if you discover anyone else who airbrushes and whom you love that is less than Maria (since, again, I will have to pay travleing charges to Yosemite).

Oh, and Gypsy, in answer to your question a page or two ago, I am getting married at the Yosemite Chapel, with the reception on a patio at the Ahwahnee Hotel.

Gypsy, wow, you are gorgeous! The makeup is superb and just perfect.

Hi Gypsy! I second and third everyone else''s posts . . . I think you look stunning!

Gypsy
You look beautiful! great photos. Im so excited for you.

SPEECHLESS! OMG, you make me wanna hire a makeup artist! WOW

I''ll say it again...WOW, you are going to be one of PS''s prettiest brides Gypsy!

I love it! It''s very romantic, you look great!

Okay just gonna say it, that make up ROCKS!!! I loooove the eye make up! I can never do the lighter colors as liners and she really make it pop on you. It looks so bride-y but not over the top. I love the curls in your hair. It looks great. I think the hairstyle you posted would be a lot softer and look really romantic.

Also I''m soooo super jealous of you ladies that find these AMAZING make up artists. I''m not quite there in the planning yet, but I''m afraid I''ll be stuck with someone that just isn''t as good.

So jealous!

GYPSY!!!!!! YOU ARE GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!

I think everything is perfect!

I love the other hair and your eye make up is gorgeous!

But most of all you are lovely! That is what is the most important thing.

Gypsy - you are just lovely! I LOVE your make-up, dear, and I think that hairstyle will look lovely. Are you going to trial the new hairstyle soon?

You look GORGEOUS, Layla!! I love it!!!

I think that you look beautiful! I adore the way she did your eye make-up. Love it.

Gypsy!

I have been totally MIA for a while now because wedding is next weekend and I am so so so so behind and so busy with work stuff but i just came on here for a little procrastination and saw your post.

Wowsa!! You are a hottie! I think your makeup looks fantastic and I love the hair too! You look totally hot! I especially love your eyes!

Hey Gypsy, question for you. I contacted a make-up artist for a quote and her email said that she wouldn''t recommend airbrushing for a wedding unless you''ve had it done before, because the look of airbrushed make-up is so much heavier than regular make-up.

Did you find that to be the case??? Your make-up in the photo does not look heavy, it looks light and beautiful. So I''m wondering.

Hi MSB... That''s wasn''t my impression but as I mentioned I have problem skin, really dark circles under my eyes... and I get oily at the drop of a hat. So my original makeup artist had to go quite heavy anyway. The airbrushing felt much lighter, and didn''t look thicker IRL at all. But I have seen airbrushing on my FSIL before, and it did look a little thick on her. I didn''t see that at all on me. Maybe it''s the product they use for it? I don''t know. She did a lot of skin prep on me before the airbrushing though. I''d call around and get opinions... a few of them. I remember a few polls on this on theknot and it was a toss up and there were a lot of different opinions on it.

Hi Gypsy!

We just got back from our trip to Seattle/CA so I''m catching up on posts and just came across this one. First off, you look gorgeous! And your skin looks flawless...

I''ve also debated on and off about whether I should throw my budget to the wind and hire Maria, but so far I just haven''t been able to justify the cost to myself (especially now that her rates went up another $100 per service
7.gif
).

I had my hair and makeup trial while we were in CA, but if I have to be completely honest I wasn''t completely blown away by either (especially the hair, which I plan to post about shortly). I really like the personality of the MUA I found, and she spent a good 2 hrs tweaking the look, but I just don''t know....It wasn''t bad per se, but I also didn''t necessarily have an immediate "I LOVE IT" reaction. My MUA also only does traditional foundation...maybe it was the lighting and/or how close up my sister was taking the photos, but it just wasn''t as flawless as I was hoping for. Was Maria''s makeup application as good close up as it appears in the photos you posted?

I thought maybe it was just me not being used to seeing myself w/ that much makeup. But it sounds like you don''t wear makeup often either yet came away really impressed w/ Maria''s application.

Also, do you have pictures from Sherrie''s trial that you might be willing to post as comparison?

ETA: OK, I just went back and looked at some of my makeup trial photos again and the last few weren''t all that bad (they weren''t quite as close up either)....ack, I just don''t know. I''m still a little shy about posting my face on the board, however, if I sent them directly to you, maybe you could give me your opinion on how it compares to your experiences w/ Sherrie and Maria? If you''d be OK w/ that, I could page you on the knot board since we''re not allowed to post contact info here...

HOW DID I MISS THIS UNTIL NOW?!!!!

Gypsy, you look absolutely stunning. Gorgeous. Good grief, I canNOT get over it. You are just beautiful!!!

I think your makeup looks completely fab. I really like your inspiration photo, and though I do love your hair from the trial, I think the other look will suit you better.

John''s eyes are gonna BUG outta his HEAD =

Hi Gypsy!

You look amazing! You''re so gorgeous, the makeup really complements you. You still look very natural, but flawless. PMA did an excellent job, though I''d guess that you''re pretty stunning in your before picture as well!

lol too bad your date wasn''t before mine, if I had seen this earlier, I may have considered having them come to Boston. I checked out their website, and I love all the other looks from Maria as well. Too bad there aren''t similar caliber of makeup/hairstylists here in Boston, or that maybe I haven''t just hadn''t found them. I was happy with my makeup & hair, but her work is in another league.

Thanks for sharing. I''m passing this to my friend who''s getting married in LA.
