Hello!

So i found this topic https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/what-does-a-2-carat-pear-look-like-when-its-less-than-5k-heres-mine.82940/ whilst i was roaming around PS, would it be possible to find a Pear, oval or radiant for that price? (oh and id also be interested in any older cut rounds, i love the warmth of lower coloured diamonds) I look all.the.time but i don't find them that cheap, or am i better off emailing some of the vendors?

Have you checked eBay? Also would you consider a marquise?

Okay, but that was five years ago and diamond prices have increased a lot during that time...

I got a 2.06 J SI2 oval about a year and a half ago for mid $8K. You may not find something for $5K but there are probably some relative bargains to be found.

Excel diamonds has a lot of lower colors. I bought my N color diamond solitaire from IDJ, and my 5 stone O/P in color is also from IDJ. IDJ website only goes to M. Excel's goes to Z., so if you'd like to see what's it there I'd start with them.

Here's another example of s pretty lower color pear.

I got a 2.08ct OEC from JbEG for around 6k last year. However it was an O/P I1 diamond. It has a large inclusion by the girdle that I was able to mostly cover with a prong. Plus it helped that the inclusion blended in with the diamond coloring. overall I think you just have to be patient and look around for a deal. This one really fell into my lap when I want' looking but I'm thrilled with the outcome.
