22" or 24" size chain for men?

Im getting a 2.5mm gold chain and i plan to put a very special pendant on it. I cannot decide what looks better though, a 22" chain or a 24" chain. i plan to stack 1 or 2 shorter and thiner chains with it in the future. Any help would be appreciated

Get a shorter chain and a 2in extender, to make it variable length from 22in to 24in?

That's what I did recently, bought a 16in chain and a 2in extender, both from Etsy (different vendors).

Depends on the size of the man and his preferred neckline.

If the man likes open collared shirts the bottom of the pendant has to lie on the skin above the first button, or the top of the pendant has to lie below the first button. In between doesn't work.

The adjustable chain length works great. DW had a lovely 20" wheat chain that DKJ modified it so it could be worn at 20" or 18" depending upon neckline.
