Munich - other end of the country!!!
It went down to -20C most of the Winter I was there. The snow started in November and didn''t lift till February - they all told me ''oh you''ll be sick of it soon enough'' - I never was!
We were obsessed with clearing the snow off our path outside the house - someone told us if a German came on the property and fell over, they could sue us for not clearing the snow away!!

Oh Maisie you just made me laugh out loud!!! The mental picture that post conjured up is just so ''Allo ''Allo! Wrong country of course (and gender too) but I got this pop-up of an ever so British gent out on the driveway shovelling snow like crazy, and all the while muttering about not letting the Germans come on the driveway!

Lol I''m glad I made you laugh!! I was a forces wife at the time and the street was all army families. You would see the husbands out the front really early when the snow fell!! It would get a bit silly - there was always one who would start throwing snow balls!!
I would love to go back, but only for a visit. I loved the town where I lived. It was small enough so we didn''t feel overwhelmed. I didn''t drive at the time so getting around was a bit difficult. We had a special bus to take us to the shops. The driver was german but tried his best to speak english. When we got off the bus we would say ''Thankyou'' and he would answer ''Please''....
