So every morning for the past nine years I've put on my studs and been irked by the fact that the jumbo backs (which are the only things I could find that kept my earrings from drooping) peeked out beneath the bottom of my ear lobes. WF was even nice enough to find me an alternate pair of backs a few weeks ago, and they were small enough to hide behind my lobes, but not big enough to hold up my studs.

Well this morning I was in the As Seen On TV Store aisle (don't ask... :cheeky:) and I bought MaicBax. VOILA SISTERS! Droop no more!!!!!

Here's the site, but you can get them on Amazon or in a bunch of places (including the ASOTVS aisle apparently, ha ha). I got the two-pack (one silver and one gold toned) because that's what they had in the store, but you can buy one or the other too.

Seriously, these have revolutionized my life!

I've got a quasi-crappy pic that shows the old jumbo back next to one of the new backs. They don't look that much smaller, but they are smaller ENOUGH. And the heart piece makes them stand up great, so even if you don't need small backs but just wanted to solve a droop these are brilliant!

hahahaha your studs got miracle bras!

Hmmm... if I got my n1ps pierced and used these backs do you think they'd lift my boobs back up where they used to be 20 years ago?!

(Boy, talk about derailing a thread right off the bat, hahahahahah!!!!!)

Yes!

Great! I got a box of plastic backs on amazon with various sizes. The largest size keeps the girls (haha) in place!

If they're backing a ding dong does that give viagra a run for its money?:mrgreen2::twirl::Up_to_something::think:

Oh my god!!! I wonder if this will work for my torn ear lobes?

Haha I just saw a commercial for these last night!

Madelise, I bet they would!

Wee, my real problem is that my holes are too low. But when you're 13 and go to Claire's whatever you come out with in terms of piercing is a crap shoot!

April, I have those plastic things but they hang too low too. I guess I could have cut some to make them work... but combining an art project with my jewelry just seemed like so much effort!

Beanine, I seem some interesting packaging with this one...

Have you tried Lobe Eonder patches? They’re little adhesive patches that go on the back of the ear. I use them with my heavier earrings. DeeJay’s backs look great for post earrings; Lobe Wonder patches also wore with ear wires, hoops, and other dangly styles.

I’ve used something similar that PS sponsored at a GTG. It works well but I want something permanent vs one time use.

@Dee*Jay, I'm so glad you shared this - my problem is I have one piercing that's just weird, I think the hole has some scar tissue or something inside it and the stud tilts even with the jumbo back pushed on very tightly. The other ear is fine. It's been bugging me so much I haven't even felt like wearing the earrings. I bought these backs from Amazon and they have solved the problem, the earring sits perfectly on my lobe now, yay! I'm glad you're enjoying your earrings more too!

I’ve seen those on TV and wondered about them! Now why couldn’t I think of that!!!??? Dang!! Do you think they’ll work on tiny earlobes with uneven piercings (thanks pediatrician!)?

Madelise, I got those stick on patches at the GTG too, but never really liked them. I hope these work for you!

Junebug, YAY!!! Isn't it great to be happy about your earrings again!?

Yenny, give them a shot! You've got nothing to lose and they could solve your problem.

BTW, I just ordered some off of ebay for about two bucks a pair. They are coming on a slow boat from China, but they'll get here eventually... So if anybody is not in a hurry, or if you want more pairs after trying them out, there's a cheaper option.

I always wondered about jumbo backs on double piercings - will the backs rub/bump against each other causing the fronts to be misaligned? Maybe one could use these for double piercings instead?

I <3 this thread, It made me LOL so hard!

Thanks Dee*Jay. I just ordered 2 pair. I thought droopy boobs and butt were bad enough and then my ear lobs sagged. What the heck is up with that. Saggy lobs, really? Really?

Bumping up this thread. @Dee*Jay and @Matata @junebug17 and anyone else who has experience with these...do they stretch out your piercing in any way?

My earrings aren't drooping but when I take them off I have this indentation (I am pushing the earring tight onto the backs to keep them secure and non droopy) and I am concerned it could be stretching out my piercings...would this Magic Bax earring backs prevent the piercings from getting stretched out while holding the earring from drooping? Thanks.

Here's a photo of the indentation.

Because the baskets of your earrings are flat (unlike the pointed martinis) I don't think that your piercings would be stretched out no matter how hard you jam on the backs, but if you use the backs with the extra piece at the top for leverage you likely won't have to push the backs on as hard anyway. Does that make sense?

Yes! Thanks @Dee*Jay ! I ordered it earlier and am glad to hear your thoughts. I hope my piercings don’t stretch. Goodness knows the rest of me isn’t holding up as well as I’d like. Next up droopy lobes and stretched out piercings. :o

Dee*Jay, I've got a Claire's wonky piercing on one ear and these backs might be the fix.

You've gone metal!
Well, I'd say now is the time to take risks:wink2:
Maybe she's born with them, maybe they're magicbax!

@missy, I don't think your studs will stretch out your piercings. As Dee*Jay said though, you probably won't have to push the backs on so hard with these.

Thanks Junie. It's the craziest thing seeing the indentation on my earlobes lol. Of course in the grand scheme of things this falls to the bottom of the worry list haha but I appreciate your reassurance.

Today I wore the big flat Amazon earring back discs I have instead and still the indention so hopefully these will do the trick. They are arriving Wednesday and I will share my findings here for anyone else who might be looking at these as an option.

@missy, sorry I'm no help. I bought the magic droop-no-more backs that Dee*Jay recommended and didn't like them. The problem is that I can't remember why I didn't like them as it was 2 yrs ago and my memory is good only for 10 minutes on a good day.

I recently ordered these to try out with my larger earrings that have a tendency to droop, and am really liking them so far. They are easy to put on and solve the dropping issue without feeling tight. They seem pretty secure as well.

I’m sure the backs that you have ordered will help with Le droop. I have similar wing backs that not only help with drooping also help place the piercing forward.

Thanks @Matata and I get it. Same issue here. I don't have room for the less important stuff in my head anymore.

Thanks @HollyC that looks great.

Mine are arriving by this evening and I will share my thoughts here. I have been wearing my Amazon flat disc backings and they are keeping the earring very flat against my lobe with zero droop. But still indenting my earlobes. I have a feeling that anything I push back into my lobe is going to indent it and I am not used to that as I usually wear dangles and not post earrings.

Glad those are working well for you.

The original backings work against the droop because they are flat and larger than the normal small earring back but they indent my lobe so much because I have to push the earring tightly against it. So I have been using these which work well against droop but still cause an indentation.

My original earring backs.

HollyC, where did you get those backs? I like that the "lever" is angled and also that it seems smaller than the heart shape of the magic ones.

I also ordered some of the silicone backs that CircularB mentioned (thanks for the suggestion CB!). They should be here tomorrow so I'll report back on how they compare to my current ones.

Missy, I found that I do have to put the backs on tight, but over time I've eased off just a smidge with no discernible difference. So maybe give your lobe just a leeeeeetle more room and see if it might be more comfortable without adding any more droop.

ETA: Those clear plastic ones don't really work for me because my holes are low and I have to trim them, which fixes the size problem but then never stay "upright."

ETA2: In the pandemic I've been wearing these itsy bitsy teenie weenie hoops I bought at a gem show one time to be my travel earrings and I LOVE them. Honestly I think they are baby earrings, but they lock tight and I have gone MONTHS at a time without ever taking them out. Plus I'm not afraid of popping them off with putting on/taking off a mask. It sounds crazy but I do like that I have *something* to wear in my ears right now, as small as they might be.
