It takes me many weeks to make decisions like this, I appreciate you all bearing with me :)

I've found 2 stones that I'm interested in online:
1 - B2C - 3.4ct G VVS1 HCA score 1.4
http://www.b2cjewels.com/dd-7851041-3.40-carat-Round-diamond-G-color-VVS1-Clarity.aspx?sku=7851041&utm_source=pricescope.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=pricescope.com

2 - JA - 3.5ct H VS2 HCA score 1.4 (identical in each category)
http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/3.50-carat-h-color-vs2-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-812251

The first stone seems like the clear winner to me....same performance score, better GIA stats, lower price.

I've been in contact with Whiteflash and Leon Mege and have quotes from each. With WF I'd need to purchase the stone from them and I have the opportunity to drive there in person (short road trip). The stone I liked best online is: http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3597963.htm but I've been a little hesitant about the inclusions I can see in the video. Sort of like little symmetrical dots around the center. They have some smaller options that would probably work though.

With Leon, I adore his prongs and have the most confidence in his work based on what I've seen online, but am not sure how the stone selection process would work. I only started communicating with him today so it's possible he has some great stone options I'd like as well...but perhaps I wouldn't get to study a long list in an excel sheet like I have been (I'm a numbers person)

I guess I'd love to hear some thoughts about buying the stone first versus going through the vendor that will be making the ring. I think I would prefer LM to make the ring over WF but shopping for the stone with WF seems easier and buying a stone online seems like the best way to get the best deal on a stone. Any thoughts? Attached the setting I'm replicating (with some small changes) below.

(I did look at stones in person at the store who has the setting, and the best they had to show me was a poorly performing J color stone that I could see the brown tint easily on, so I've eliminated them from consideration)

The first stone is less expensive b/c of the VSB fluor.

Oh that makes sense. Seemed like a pretty big price difference just for that...but I guess it bothers some people. I don't have any issue with strong fluor unless it does something negative to the stone.
