First, is it possible to have hearts and arrows in a diamond with only "good" symmetry? I can see them in mine in various lighting and various angles.
Second, my friend is searching for a diamond for his girlfriend and asked me yesterday which is more preferable, a diamond that''s a little steep or one that''s a bit shallow. He saw two potential stones and both are nice and in the right price range, but one was a bit steep (I think he said 63.4%) and the other was quite shallow (57-58% or so). If he can''t afford an ideal cut, is either of the above preferable?
