I finally had these set. The fist is a welo opal from Jim Mccormick. It has a couple deep inclusions so it was very reasonably priced. It was set in 18k and sterling by LSueSzabo on Etsy. It was supposed to be a necklace but I can't see it like that so I am wearing it on my wrist! :)

The second is a boulder opal cut by Brett Kosner. It was set by Linda Blumel on Etsy in 18k and silver. I had to sell my Montana agate and green tourmaline rings to cover the cost of setting these but it was worth it because my true love has always been opals. I adore both of these pieces and am so grateful to the gem cutters/sellers and setters who were amazing to work with!

Wow! Those are fantastic pieces. I just love them. Congrats!

Your opals are beyond gorgeous!!! Just stunning

I really love that opal ring! Now you've got me thinking..... I really should get off these boards before I am entirely broke!

Hi,

Absolutely lovely!

Annette

Gorgeous, my friend!!!

I do the same thing - I wear necklaces as bracelets too :)

Thank you Maccers, Acinom, SapphireStyle, Annette, and Katharath!
I panicked a bit when I opened the welo and saw how well it turned out knowing that I could not see it around my neck. I started wrapping it around my finger and was so thrilled when it worked on my wrist! It is brilliant that you have been doing this for a while, Katharath! Please post pics!

Wonderful opals! I like the necklace as a bracelet - the oxidized silver looks really cool/edgy and great contrast with the opal. I love that you can wear big rings too! I love them but mine never seem to get enough wear...I work with my hands too much. Great suite!

Oh I am taking them off constantly. I breed dart frogs and grow exotic plants and have 15 aquariums so my hands are always in the dirt or water! What is your hand work Desertrose? Growing beautiful cacti like in your avatar? I adore Lithops and have a bunch!

absolutely love those!!

Beautiful!!! Love how your opal projects turned out. Helps give me ideas for my projects. I too wear necklaces as bracelets sometimes, which is fun to do.

Beautiful pieces...I've contacted Linda about making a ring for my gem silica cab. Your ring is a good reminder/motivator for me to bump it higher on my list of projects.

These are beautiful. Congratulations!

Amazing opals! There's been a lot of opal threads in CS recently, I'm loving it!!

Beautiful colours they just pop, and I love the clean lines of the settings.

Those looks great, especially the necklace/bracelet due to the contrast. :appl:

The color play looks gorgeous! And nice big size, too. Both pieces really pop & stand out! :)
I love the idea of wearing the necklace as a bracelet.. can't believe I hadn't thought of that before! :appl:

Thank you Mochiko, Chrono, Lovinggems, Jordy, Siameseroo, lilmosun, lovesvintage, and lorrissey! I am happy you all like them. :wavey: I will treasure them always!

Had to post a neck shot!

Beautiful pieces!

Love these pieces! Great size and fire in the opals! Don't blame you for wanting your necklace where you can see it :-)

One more opal ring! I bought it from EdenCollective on Etsy.
From around 1900, 10k rose gold. Does anyone know if this would be the type of opal that was mined in Czechoslovakia back then? Is it a crystal opal? I just love it. Lightly engraved with the name "Cat".

Oh such a beautiful beautiful ring! I completely love that setting... its really made me gasp! So pretty.... (and ofcourse the opal  )

I'd lean towards this one being a white opal but I may be completely wrong, I'm looking at it on a phone with tired eyes but it doesn't look as translucent as a Crystal Opal. Beautiful stone regardless of what it is though :appl:

Beautiful collection. Well done!

ETA: I really like how the two peices you have made are done by two different designers, stones from two different regions and cuts. But they complement each other fantastically.
