Anyone want to see some pics of hot studs?

I recently bought a pair of "fraternal" twins from our dear Dreamer_D -- a 4.05mm OEC and a 4.10mm tranny. The original plan was to pop them into a 3-stone ring.

In the meantime, I took a chance on a £100 ebay ring, planning to use the diamonds in a project for my soon-to-be sister-in-law. The ring turned out to contain two 3.3mm OECs (and a 3.4mm MRB (?)). I decided to keep the OECs, which then meant that my 3-stone ring plan turned into a 5-stone ring plan. The bonus is that after scrapping the 18k gold and reselling the MRB, those little OECs will be free! :D

I'm having a hard time finding a centre stone for the 5-stone ring and am realising that it might take a lot longer than I'd planned, which means I might do the unthinkable and have these stones made into studs! (Unthinkable for me because I never really liked studs....but..... )

I've popped them all into snap-tite settings to get an idea of how they'd look as studs and I love them! I think I will go ahead and have them set in basic white gold 4-prong settings and wear them until I find the right centre stone for that 5-stone ring. No sense in these little beauties sitting unloved in my jewellery box in the meantime, is there?! :))

Pics to follow....

My pics are nowhere near as good as Dreamer's were, so bear with me!

Here they are in their temporary (i.e., for picture-taking only -- I won't be wearing these!) settings: 4.05/4.1mm on the left and the 3.3mm on the right -- they're all nicely matched in colour, so I'll probably wear both sets of studs at the same time and they'll look fine when all together in a ring:

Culet shots of the OECs:

The 3.3mm pair:

The 4.05/4.1mm pair -- they really are small enough that the difference in faceting isn't obvious:

\My only beef is that they are not articulated, I wou`ld want the larger stone to move freely!

I'm usually a fan of articulating earrings, but in this case, the second stone probably won't even hang below your ear lobe, so it might be better to keep it stationary to avoid twisting. Also, sure the proportions of the smaller and larger stone look good that close together - it could be fine, or it could look like a diamond snowman. Enjoy having diamonds to play with though - what fun!
