2nd stone- about $600 more- slightly bigger- spread not as good- but table not as big and less inclusions (vs one right under the table in previous diamond..

which would you choose??

I would probably choose the second one. I like those proportions better. My cutoff for tables is about 56.5% and I like 55-56% better. Just make sure that the cloud isn''t a dark spot that will drive your crazy. Or a 3D cloud that ruins the whole picture whenever the stone is tilted.

They are both nice. Great color and clarity on both. And even though the first stone has inclusions in the table, with VS2 grade, I doubt if these would be any kind of an issue. But JA's gemologist will be able to confirm that for you.

They will have very different personalities, though. The first one is likely to look larger, face up, and also throw off a lot of bright white sparkle, and maybe less colored fire. Maybe. Have you seen stones in person with large tables? Some people love them; some people don't. If you prefer a white, bright stone with good spread, this looks like a nice one.

The other stone is a more conventional ideal cut, with a balance between white light and colored flashes.

I actually have a slight preference for the first one -- I think it will be very pretty (and I'm not even a 60/60 cut fan!).

I am going with the first one- I love a bright white diamond.. The JA gemologist also recommended that one.. I was worried about the inclusion in the center of the stone but they said it was very light and the diamond was very sparkle vs the more conventional cut being darker..

Good! Congratulations, and please post photos when you get it.

thanks! paying tomorrow- hopefully will have it day after!!

I too enjoy bright white lite return, since most daily lighting environments favour that type of lighting anyways.

Good luck.
