thanks to the great advice that I have gotten here I am down to two diamonds- please let me know what you think. There is a $600 difference which I am fine with I am wondering what you think of the quality. thanks again!
1st choice:

http://www.solomonbrothers.com/Diamond_47436357 ( I notice this says surface graining and additional clouds not shown- what does that mean exactly??) has anyone here ever bought from Solomon Brothers?

2nd choice:

Hi Suzannea and welcome!

Lets take a look....

Both diamonds look promising. The comments about surface graining and clouds isn't an issue, just mentioned for the sake of completeness. I haven't purchased from SB, I don't know if they can provide an Idealscope image which would be the next step but you can certainly ask them.

The second diamond from JA looks good, they can provide an Idealscope image on request.

You are welcome!

I think is SB can get you an idealscope image then I might lean in that direction because it is a more traditionally balanced cut. But I don''t think they will do that, and I am not comfortable suggesting buying a diamond sight unseen without one online. If SB has a very good return policy you could have the loose diamond shipped to you and then compare it to AGS ideal diamonds locally to see how it performs.

thanks- I asked SB for ideal scope- the response I got was " we only have GIA map and I can guarantee that since it VS2 it''s eye clean.. LOL.. I am leaning towards the JA one- seems more people have experience with them and while I would love to get a little bit bigger- I originally wanted to keep it under $8500- it''s hard not to get carried away.. Thanks again.. I plan to buy it and then be happy- no shopping it around to other jewelers- that would just make me crazy.. SB allows 25 day returns.
Any other opinions??

Actually I have to respectfully disagree with the person that told you that, a diamond being VS2 is no guarantee the stone will be eyeclean to any particular person. The majority will be eyeclean but there are always exceptions.

thanks- I do disagree also.. I am having much better service from the JA salespeople- very nice and actually know what they are talking about
