Hi all,

I'm looking for a bit of assistance (or recommendations if you have the time) for a 2-2.4 carat lab diamond at loosegrowndiamond.com

Beyond looking for a specific dimension (around 1.45-1.5) is what I prefer, I've narrowed some other criteria down to:

Cut: Ideal
Color: F or better
Clarity: VS1 or better

And even with these parameters, i've seen thousands of options in the 600-800 price range. What gives?

Are these low quality stones, or can one find a 'gem' in the sea of below-average stones. In terms of viewing available videos - my level of knowledge is hazy beyond looking at a discolored stone or seeing one with a bow-tie.

Any opinions or recommendations are welcome.

I decided to start in stones that appeared reasonable:

Not sure how much you know (I'm pretty new myself), but with fancy shapes that aren't the standard round, the dont really grade the cut. You'll see they will pretty much all just state ideal.

You might want to use advance filter using the table and aim for an excellent cut.

Regarding the best way to analyse the videos I'm still trying to work that out myself and find resources. But keep an eye on if the inclusions are directly under the table and therefore more visible, or are more discreet on the sides.

Thank you! That actually helped dial down the options a bit.

Maybe @tyty333 can assist here? I know nothing about choosing a good oval. But the last one you posted has blue nuance. Not that it's a bad thing necessarily, but you just should know.
