2 CT Oval Setting Ideas? Help! (Engagement ring,yellow gold)

Hi!

I have a 2 Carat VVS1 Oval I Color diamond which I need assistance with for engagement ring Setting!

My partner just said she wants yellow gold (prongs too) and that's it. Rest is on me to figure out.

Any ideas or recommendations on settings for a 2 CT Oval with yellow gold?

Need to find the perfect design asap

What style does she like. Does she care about pave? Halo? Setting n/s or e/w? What's your budget.

Thanks for asking, I forgot to mention these things.

She prefers something more clean looking with the focus on the Oval. Either plain or very small diamonds on band

No Halo.
Setting classic N/S.
Preferred 4 Prong - would this be safe? or is 6?
Micro Pave is a maybe, nothing more prominent.

Budget is not a crucial factor, 4k max ideally though.

an oval that size would look STUNNING in this setting. I know it's more intricate than you were looking for but is it just gorgeous, i think the fluidity of the setting just goes so well with an elongated stone

You have received some really good suggestions. Ovals are one of my favorite cuts, but can sometimes look a little "off" in a solitaire setting, depending on the L:W ratio. That's why ovals are put in halos so often, to "fill out" the width a bit more. Other ways to do this are: (i) with a split shank, no halo, or (ii) a tapered shank. A good friend of mine has a ~1.5 carat oval e-ring with pave split shank, and it is very nice. Also, you can never go wrong with an oval set with tapered baguettes...
