I have a beautiful 2.5 K VS1 round brilliant from my first marriage. I am about to get engaged and love this stone. I would like to get it reset for the second marriage. I was actually thinking of setting it in rose gold with an eternity band for the wedding band. Any pictures or suggestions would be much appreciated!

Congratulations on your upcoming engagement! How exciting! Do you want a solitaire setting? Modern vibe? What pieces do you normally wear?

I want it to look different than the first marriage. Previously it was set in a 4 prong Tiffany’s setting in white gold with a 1 carat tw pave wedding bang. I would like to think outside the box but still show the beauty of the center stone.

Would you consider a 3 stone? Or you can go with a 6 prong solitaire or even an 8 prong if dome delicately. Is there a PS jeweler you want to work with to create your engagement ring?

Congratulations! I love the idea of a 6 prong, maybe with a larger diamond shank, maybe a twisted shank, perhaps a halo? I agree, anything to change the look. This will be fun!

I am definitely open to suggestions on a PS jeweler. I do not currently have one in mind. I’m a very visual person but when I see it I know right away if I like it!

It depends on your aesthetic. There are many talented jewelers on PS. For example I adore Victor Canera’s work. And he is a gentleman as well. There are many skilled professionals here. Just depends on your preferences. Can you share photos of engagement rings you love?

Congratulations on your impending engagement! Rose gold will nicely comploemny the 2.5ct K color diamond. You can certainly go for a six prong solitaire paired with a rose gold eternity band. Perhaps something like this:

I also saw this combo which might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I find pretty.

The first image is beautiful ♥️

Hope you don’t mind me asking but is the husband to be ok with using a stone from the first time round? Also, you have a solitaire setting plus eternity band already, I’d go for something completely different.to change it up if you are going to use the stone. A 3 stone would be beautiful, or a halo,

@CarFul it seems that your previous wedding set was very similar, but the heart wants what the heart wants. I don’t know where you are located, but maybe reach out to David Klass and see what would be his estimate to create a 6 prong solitaire for you and rework your band in rose gold. You already have all diamonds, so use them. Maybe consider a bezel band with it without milgrain. That will be pretty and different. Here is an example:

Congratulations on your engagement! I'd make sure that your hubby to be is comfortable with the comments he might recieve.

My fiance's ex wife did this with a beautiful 3 carat MRB he gave her... everyone thought it was extremely tacky to reuse a stone and pass it off as an engagement ring from a new husband.

No one has to know it is the same diamond. Most people would never notice. As long as it is reset, it's no one's business as long as he is fine with it. If you use rose gold, I recommend making the head/prongs in platinum so they don't reflect in the diamond like rose gold would.

I think a three stone or halo would make it look most different.

Yes it’s nobody’s business but you and your FI’s what stone it is you are using. Also agree with @diamondseeker2006 that the head/prongs should be in platinum.

Completely agree regarding the origin of the diamond, that’s only for OP and her SO to discuss and decide on.

It certainly wouldn’t bother my DH if I had a lovely stone from a previous relationship and wanted to reuse it. It’s not really that different to buying preloved IMVHO.

I love missy's idea of a 3 stone. I think it would really change up the look. There have been some absolutely stunning 3 stones on this forum lately.

Also, best wishes on your engagement! Your diamond is stunning!

Your diamond looks very bright and it's a great size! I also vote to set it into a three-stone of some kind. First, because it is my favourite setting style, and as a three-stone wearer myself, I can say that the bling factor is second to none. But also because it will be very different from the previous setting and three-stones are both timeless and very fashionable right now. I like rounds with small round sides, but larger rounds also look good!

Congratulations! How exciting! I had a gorgeous cushion for my first marriage but my now fiancé didn’t want to use that ring at all. So I have a completely different ring/stone. Whatever you decide doesn’t matter. What matters is your happiness. Happy ring setting shopping.

I also vote a three-stone... something like MGR's three-stone is classic and fits into the style you like while being different than your first ring:

Also consider: it's more bling.

I love a 3 stone round with pears.9104E9ED-E732-4B3C-B104-A7A1C63ACF7A.png
