I'm not very experienced at reading ideal-scopes yet, but which of these two would be your pick? These are both pretty good right? I have attached their certs as well. They are both very similar in price. @rockysalamander @KKJohnson

#1 looks much better to me. Nice, aligned arrows. #2 has disorganized arrows and some white areas in the middle (leakage)

So overall, not just with ideal scopes, but you think it's worth the 2 steps down in color?

It's important point out that these are not idealscopes, they are hearts and arrows images. You cannot determine light return from them. However, the first stone is a nicer cut stone. Do you have any videos? Can you ask for idealscopes or ASETs?

#1 looks better cut to me than #2, though #2 has much fatter arrow shafts (which I kinda dig).

The listings to me don't show any videos; only sample images which are useless. See if Adiamor can provide actual Idealscope images rather than H&A scope images.

Not sure why you aren't seeing the videos. Maybe view it in desktop mode, or wait a few seconds for the video to load.

You're right, the videos have disappeared and are only showing samples now.

Based on the GIA certificates, I would definitely pick up the 2.30, E, VVS.
The Idealscope image could be misleading if the diamond is not positioned well. GIA shows Excellent symmetry, the arrows can't look like this. May be this diamond was tilted while taking picture?
I like the 55% table of this diamond.
I vote for E, VVS2.

.
The E is also a very fine cut - on the brink of H&A, IHMO. A G/VS closer to 3 cts would make me leave it aside.

The hearts and arrow images show the G is cut better and the G will still face up very white. G gets my vote but without videos this is a tough call.

Well I don't know why the videos load sometimes when I click it, but I've recorded my screen to show the videos. Make sure you change the youtube settings to 1080p or it'll be blurry. @KKJohnson @bmfang

To me, you are paying for vvs2 when, generally speaking, even SI1 is most likely not visible to the eye. I do love an E/F (my studs are E), but I can't really tell F from G.

They are both beautiful though.

Thanks for the videos!

The G still looks better to me but see if they will still send you the ASETs for both. This is a big purchase and they need to send them

I did lower my bar to VS2, but did not find any acceptable ones for me. Raising it up to VS1 brought me to a similar price range and I've settled on a few (in my last thread), but these two popped up from my jeweler with the specs I wanted and I haven't found anything as good (HCA 1.0 and 1.7 scores) for this price. Feel free to share any.

The 2.34 in particular fit the strict proportions from beyond4cs:
https://beyond4cs.com/shapes/round/ideal-proportions/

Table 57%
Depth 62%
CA 35
PA 40.6

Well, I'd love for you to try a superideal in your price range, but I know you want bigger.

It is hard to explain or appreciate the difference if you haven't seen one.

Try these:
Depth 60.5 to 62.1
Table: 55-57
Pavillion: 40.6 to 40.8
Crown: 34-34.5

Those are iirc diamondseeker2006's personal preferences

GIA excellent:
Depth 60-62.3
Table 54-58
Pavilion: 40.6 to 40.9
Crown: 34-35

I still wish you would get a super ideal in your price range I really like this one that @rockysalamander suggested

https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3897559.htm

But if you really wanted max size here is an I ( I know, I know its is lower color) but here is a color scale to give you a visual reference of the color. WF will also do a comparison side by side of all their in house diamonds for you to evaluate. What kind of setting do you want to use?

I appreciate the suggestions, but the significant drop in color suggestions are just not something I would consider.

If I were getting this for me, I would totally go with super ideal and get something smaller. But that was an internal struggle I had to overcome, that ultimately I am getting this for my girl friend, and she will be more "wow'd" with something bigger (but still sparkly). I'm all about specs and numbers, but at the end of the day, to her she's going to get a diamond that will look sparkly and big, or look sparkly and bigger.

Well, like I said out of the two you have presented I still like the G. It appears to have a better cut, size, and less flou than the E.

I hear you.

I just want to reiterate that with super ideals, as you saw in the video I posted, you CAN go "down" in color and it is still a white diamond. That is because it is cut superior to everything else. It is not a GIA J or I (the whiteflash one).

You have never seen one so you don't understand.

Ok. Good luck with your selection! Hand shots when she gets it.....

Also, think twice about the upgrade policy. If she wants even bigger in ten years, with Blue Nile, James Allen and Adamore, you would have to spend double the price.

With Whiteflash and HPD, she can spend one dollar more if she wants. She can trade one diamond for studs and get a new diamond, etc, or spend 10k more and get a 2.8 or whatever.

The upgrade policy is one reason why I have moved on from blue nile.

IMG_3748.jpg Here is a handy visual we use.

This is the 2.34 adiamore vs the 2.53 HPD

The HPD is also not as deep so you see more of what you are paying for.

You can see that the Crafted by Infinity diamond is LARGER and SPARKLIER than the adiamore. It is going to look like a giant white fireball on her finger.

Both are well cut diamonds, how well its hard to tell.
If they cant provide images there are options.
If the vendor has a good exchange policy and shipping cross borders isn't involved you could have it sent to you for inspection and get an ASET scope.

You can also hire an appraiser and have it sent to them for advise and images.

For the record, for the adiamore diamonds, I vote for the G.

That's a handy visual. Where can I go to look at that? And thank you for all your advice.
