I have been on a mission over the last couple of months to come up with an engagement ring for my partner. We got engaged in February this year using some placeholder rings so that we could choose exactly what rings we want.
My fiancé only wanted an asscher cut that was yellow, but not too yellow. It proved to be a bit more difficult than I was anticipating. JBG had a great option, however it is already in a setting. This stone was offered to us without a report, we put a deposit down on it and then had it sent to GIA for a report. It was estimated to be a W-X VS1, unfortunately it came back as a W-X SI1. We were offered a small discount, however it is an extremely clean SI1. As long as it is eyeclean neither of us are bothered what the clarity is.
The setting is 18K white with a 18Y cup and setting for the centre stone. The side stones are 0.60cttw F VS1.
The centre stone ranges from a light lemony yellow to a much more saturated yellow depending on the environment. This asscher definitely dances as it moves. It’s cut much better than I was expecting. I’m very jealous and I wish this was on my finger instead!
