We're engaged! This is our semi-custom diamond ring. I posted the stone itself a couple months ago, but here again are the specs:
2.01 ct
H
SI1
7.47-6.67-4.66mm (about 1.12 L/W ratio, slightly rectangular)
Depth 69.9%
Table Width 69%
Crown 9%
Pavilion Depth 57%
Girdle - slightly thick, polished
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Very Good
Culet: None
Flourescence: None

I knew I wanted something "different" when we began our ring shopping adventure. I definately wanted some color. After seeing a Radiant cut stone in a store, there was no going back. The sparkles of the stone just make all other diamonds pale in comparison. We had 2.5 mm stones set in the band, 2 sapphires and 2 more diamonds.

I'm a little leary of the setting, we had some trouble finding a head for the stone, it is very deep in comparison to other stones and I'm not entirely thrilled with the head and how it relates to the rest of the stone. The head itself is platinum, the rest of the band is palladium, which has worn well for the few weeks I've had it.

The proposal! In Paris, by the river Seine in front of Notre Dame Cathedral. He did a great job!

All pics taken outdoors on a cloudy day. Ignore my dry and apparently hairy fingers!

Very pretty.... it looks lovely on your hand... Congratulations!!! :appl: :appl: :appl:

Your new ring looks beautiful, I really like the sapphire sidestones! If you don't like how high the center stone sits, maybe you could have the head changed later?

Congrats! and I agree with the head being changed later on, it doesn't look too integrated, so this could possibly be done without too much of a problem

gorgeous!!!!

I love it... !

Great ring! I do agree that if you are not happy with the head change it out.

LOVE your ring!!!!

Thanks all! I really wanted a classic elegant setting. The local jewelry store that set the stone was a massive disappointment. The setting of the stone took around 2 months, maybe a little longer. The head they finally got for the stone is chunky and does not go with the rest of the ring in my opinion. They also returned it to us with the prongs offset, the soldering uneven and the side stones loose!!! Will NOT be using them again for ANYTHING.

It's gorgeous! Congrats on your lovely ring and on your engagement! :appl:
