1ct Size 4.5

Hello PS community,

I was wondering how a 1ct ering would look on a size 4.5 finger. Any opinions or pictures would be greatly appreciated. I''m wondering if it would look too small, too big, or just right? Thanks in advance.

I think it'll look just right!

Here's a thread with pics of ladies' hands with that size ring. I'm a 4.5 myself but I like the ring to be big (hate the pinched look) so I wear a 4.75. 1 carat looks very very nice on a 4.5 size finger.

my gf is a size 4.5 and I''m getting her a 0.65-0.7 carat stone for 2 reasons
1) I think that size looks just right for that size finger
2) 1 carat may look fine too (bordering too big for my personal opinion though), but for 25% more area, I don''t want to pay 3 times the $$ (b/c budget is an issue)

But if you think 1 carat looks just right (totally each persons own opinion), and you have the $$ for it, then go for it =D

I agree! That size finger is pretty small, so .65-.7 carat stone will look substantial...

And lovely! I am sure it will look like a full carat on her small finger!

Remember, also that you quickly get used to the size!!!

I tell guys to think of the plasma TV effect. Looks huge at first, but then you get used to it very fast!

i have a 1.59ct on my finger and i dont think it looks too big (my ring finger is 3.25). i think 1ct would look gorgeous on her. Diamond sizes are all so relative in regards to what would look "good" "too big" or "too small." There are so many variables that can affect what a person''s perception is. I think any size would look gorgeous on any finger as long as you and your future FI love it.

you know I also think the style of the setting can make a significant difference. For example, if it is a split shank style with large prongs, this will make the center stone seem smaller. If the shank is thin at the top, this will make the stone seem larger. Obviously this effect varies alot and some settings may not effect the stone size appearance much, but I think it is a noticeable one in some cases.

I have a size 4.25 hand and a 1.11 carat stone. I think the proportions are just right on my hand, so a 1 carat on a 4.5 hand should look perfect as well. I used to own a .74, but I love the way 1 carat looks. Anything over 1.5 carats seems a little too large for everyday wear on my hand, in my personal opinion. Although I know many ladies here on ps who could definitely rock something larger on a small hand.
