I am working on trading up my .52 carat round diamond from BGD to a .77 carat or so emerald cut diamond.
I am torn about the setting though... I have around $600 in the budget for the setting, and I can either get a sturdy 18k white gold trellis setting from Unique Setting Company OR the basic 4-prong setting on the BGD website in platinum.
I can see the pros and cons of both settings... The 18k setting is sturdier, but will that dwarf my diamond? Should I get a more petite setting in platinum because A.) It's platinum and B.) The more petite band may make the diamond stand out more?
What would you do?
Get the 18k white gold trellis setting.
Get the more petite basic 4-prong in platinum.
