So, as of last Tuesday I am officially engaged! I posted several days ago about how I was convinced that he wasn''t going to do it before we went home for Thanksgiving, even though it may be the only time we saw them until Spring. Well, I was definitely wrong about that!
I like to give my fiance (!) a hard time because he''s into a lot of stuff that I consider lame. He likes collecting coins, for instance, and buy books about finding treasure and hunts for bigfoot with his friends and has a metal detector. I love him for who he is, of course, but I just pick on him sometimes about being an old man and stuff. So imagine my surprise when I get handed a "treasure map" that has our apartment layout and a big X marked. The guide tells me that X = ring (how creative, haha) and that I need to find the treasure.
This would have been very sweet, except I''m an idiot. Our kitchen counter attaches to a wall where there is a shelf on top where we keep pottery. The X was on a very vague spot and I thought it was in a kitchen drawer or the pantry. So I spend 20 minutes, no joke, looking through every box and bag and behind every can in our pantry. SO is just watching me and kind of laughing to himself. When it''s not there, I ask for a hint. He gives me the name of the potter and I immediately realize where the ring is! I climb up and get it and hand it to him.
He says a lot of sweet things and asks me to marry him! It was very him and I''m so excited!
Now some info about the ring:
