I need to find a jeweller who can sell me 15 .20ct diamonds that are IDEAL cut D color and VVS

Why the 2 threads? People are answering in your other thread...

so far no jeweller has been able to provide this. When I do find the one that can I will recommend them to everyone I know..............

Have you contacted Whiteflash? They have ACA smaller stones.

Yes I have and they do not have any D''s in stock and said they were not sure if they ever would have all d''s. This is proving to be a very hard request. I have contacted quite a few people and nobody can produce these stones.

As Storm mentioned in the other thread this is because they are often sold in parcels of mixed colors like DE or DEF. A DE or DEF mix would still make a beautiful band if you can''t find the D''s you are after...

Like I said, I want all D''s. So far, I am not impressed with anyone really......

You don''t need to use D colour melee. They are as rare as hens teeth apparently. I have a D color stone in my ering, and will be using F colour melee for my wedding band. You just won''t be able to tell the different in stones that size.

If you tell us who you have tried already we can recommend some more vendors. But since you seem to have tried lots already, it would help to know who you''ve gone to already.

HI:

Did a brief search on James Allen but the database shows nothing smaller than .30 pointers. Don''t know if any .20 pointers would be certed/Ideal. Good luck! Sounds like a great project!

http://www.jamesallen.com/search_results.asp?cid=131&step=SearchResults&sbmt=1&shape=Round&carat_from=0.2&carat_to=0.4&price_from=&price_to=&color="D"&clarity=''IF''&clarity=''VVS1''&clarity=''VVS2''&clarity=''VS1''&isHA=1&cut_grade=1&fromtabledepth=&totabledepth=&fromtablesize=&totablesize=&x=42&y=10

cheers--Sharon

Nice ice, GOG, Whiteflash, supercert, Holloway etc.

I realize I don''t need them, but at .20cts each diamond, it is much more important that at .05.

I KNOW I DO NOT NEED THEM TO BE D, I WANT THEM TO BE D!

Look, we are trying to help you. Many people don''t realize that they don''t need D diamonds in order for it to be pretty. Obviously you aren''t one of them. But if you want everyone''s help here there is no need to yell, everyone means well.

If you would consider going slightly higher than 0.2 carats, blue nile has a lot of options....

Keep your pants on sweetie, we are just trying to help here

Remember, we are all people here with feelings too, so if you want some help, you just gotta play nice

We get so many newbies coming on here banging on about needing certain colour, clarities etc, then when they become educated and spend some time around here, they come to realise this may not be the case as orginally thought. The majority of people who look at 1ct stones ranging from D - G cannot tell the difference at all, so I wasn't sure if you thought you would be able to see a difference, as in that size, you won't.

I totally and absolutely understand your desire to have D colour stones, I bought a D colour centre stone myself so I understand the need for 'mindclean' stones. I would love the idea of D colour melee myself as deep down I would know they would 'match' on paper, so I get you.

Good luck in your search for your stones!

Abby12 is looking for "perfect" and anything less than a D is not perfect.

Looks like BlueNile wins.

Hi guys,

I am not getting mad at all! I understand the whole color, clarity thing, I am just a perfectionist. I know I won''t see the difference. I was not trying to be rude, just clear on what it is I want. :)
I will check out bluenile in the meantime.
If anyone else knows of anyone let me know

Thanks

did you contact Wink or Gary at Diamond Expert as previously recommended?

did you contact Wink or Gary at Diamond Expert as previously recommended?
Yes.

Paul and I are looking, but this is a very difficult thing to do as no one wants to sell only the D''s from a Parcel and neither Paul or I wants to buy a huge parcel to select only the D''s from and have an unsaleable parcel remaining.

It may be possible to assemble such stones over a period of some months, but this will require a commitment from the buyer to pay as they are found and to not expect this to be an easy or quick transaction.

The cost to do this with only D''s is likely to be very high, which Paul is uncomfortable with, although I have told him that this is not our decision to make. It might easily cost double the parcel price to assemble a matching set of D''s only, and I for one think that would be just fine if the buyer is willing to do this. As a vendor of high quality I find nothing inherently wrong with someone spending extra to get what THEY want so long as they know what they are paying and why.

Wink

Wow Wink, it sounds like you''re on the ball with this one!

Yep!

Wink,

Thanks, I appreciate your honesty. I was recently told by another vendor on this site that oh yes it would be no problem and then when the diamonds came in, low and behold they were not d''s! I was very disappointed that I was told "their" supplier could get them for me and then they couldn''t get them.

To their defense, they probably thought that it would not be as difficult as it is. This is a very difficult and very worthy challenge that we are pleased to participate in.

Our being pleased to participate in this challange does NOT mean that we will be successful, only that we will work very hard on it!

Wink

Did anyone mention that they also have to fluoresce very strong blue?

Just kidding.

Thanks to everyone for their input! :)

abby, i really hope Wink will be able to come through for you. you will have to post pictures once it''s done because you will definitely have a one of a kind piece which will be very special.

Yes, If I can get this made, I promise to post pics so that you can all see it. Fingers crossed
