14kt vs. 18kt yellow gold

Well, I think I finally have the diamond thing down, but now I have to have it set. my GF would like the princess solitaire set in yellow gold. What are the key differences between 14kt and 18kt, and which is preferable? Is there much of a difference in the colour of the gold?

Congrats on finding the diamond!

18k has more gold in it and is more of a buttery yellow. It's the prefered yellow gold for e-rings. 14k gold works fine too, but can look a little washed out.

**For any e-ring a platinum or white gold head is always a good idea so your diamond is more secure.
