Hi all! I recently purchased a lovely diamond ring from an estate dealer and it is marked ING + 14K inside the shank. The only info I could find online was a post from Dancing Fire, on this forum, in 2004! Dancing Fire, are you out there?!! :) =)

Does anyone know what this hallmark means? I do not believe it means another element other than gold has been mixed.

Thank you for looking, any help is appreciated!

probably the makers mark? Do you have a closeup?

i don't have it on hand, but it reads exactly like this: "ING + 14K". The only maker I can find with that mark has an oval circled around the ING and my ring does not. Very curious indeed!

I think INGWER?.. my wife's ring is stamped ING 14K

Hi Dancing Fire! This was the only maker I could find as well. But my marking doesn't have the oval surrounding it and this maker does, according to this site. It was also first used in 2009 and your ring was acquired in 2004, so we both may have something different. It is such a mystery!

I also purchased a ring from the same dealer marked MS, some other faded letter, and the © stamp. Not sure if the worn hallmark is an N, its indecipherable even under a loupe. These two purchases both have me perplexed but are, on the plus side, very high quality with beautiful color and clarity of diamonds.

Thank you for your input! We may never know, I suppose.

Cmon ... no pics? :(2
