Stud Earrings. Am sure specs will be accurate. Thoughts on if this a good price? Any input appreciated.

I think you can do better. Are these stones GIA/AGS certified? I'm thinking not because you are stating G/H color.
You can get GIA certed .6 ctw H/VS2 for $1250 at James Allen. (their smallest stones are .3s).

If you want to stay in the .4 ctw with uncerted stones I would talk to IDJ and tell them you want PS quality stones.
I would think they could do them fairly cheap.

I would call them...

edit...just noticed they have some pre-set....you might want better quality though.

thanks for your response. I am considering white flash ACA melee stone (not lab certed at that small size nor upgradable) but I was hoping to keep the price lower than $1,100. I don't know if I'm being unrealistic because I want something that while small will be very sparkly and lively. White flash also has presets that I was told have excellent proportions. These are cheaper but they are not ACut Above.
BRilliant earth also has some nice preset diamond studs as does JA but again these are not certed so I am wary.

I know cut is king but there's usually nothing said about that when it comes to presets.

I looked at the iDJ website again no info on cut.

Whiteflash should have very nice stones. They will cost a little more but they should be nice.

No cut info...that's why you need to call IDJ and ask for PS quality stones. Tell them you want to see arrows and you want them
to really sparkle (or just go with Whiteflash, I would trust them too).

Anyone can claim Ideal cut stones (without certs) so you need to make sure you are buying from somewhere trustworthy.

Try this - these should be beautiful diamonds, and both are .23ct (.46ctw) G VS2 GIA cert.

This:

plus

Almost identical specs, both 1.3 on the HCA

Martini setting in platinum - $250 - total, $1153

Martini setting in 18kt - $180 - total, $1083

Martini setting in 14kt - $160 - total, $1063

Killer earrings, under budget.

ETA I have been collecting .25 and .26ct E or F VS2 or SI1 stones from Blue Nile for years now. I use them often in projects - eternity rings, DBTY settings, and so on. My last one arrived on Tuesday (I'm using three of them on a South Sea pearl drop necklace). I have never had a stone which was less than beautiful - all clean, sparkly, great stats - everything they should be.

Here's a photo of my sapphire ring, which has 8 x .25 and .26ct stones. I can't tell which ones are E or F, or VS2 or SI1.

They're all very clean and sparkly, have great light return, plenty of arrows and very beautiful.

Hope this helps!

Why thank you, rockhoundofficiando :)

G VS2 is a great sweet spot, and the stats on those stones are terrific. I think you're going to love your new earrings!

I got out my newest .25 stone from BN after I posted before, and had a bit of a play with it. That thing is small - but its heart is mighty with bling!! Make sure you post some photos when your new earrings arrive!

Mrs. Blop
