Your body weight will fluxuate throughout the day so a better determination would be to weigh yourself once a day at the same time or once a week. Quick changes are usually due to water/fluid retention.Date: 11/12/2008 4:21:55 PM

I am trying to slim down again and regain some of my muscle definition from college. It has been hard living out of a hotel for a few months, and I have put on about 8-10 lbs. It has all gone to my upper arms, chest, little around my tummy, and my thighs.
Here's my problem, I have quick weight gain and weight loss. I can get on the scale at 8 AM and be 140 and then 12 hours later I'll be 137 or 143. It makes it very hard to determine what I'm doing is working from what is not working. Does anyone else have a problem like this? or know why my body might be doing this? I'm not a big proponent of weighing myself, but i feel that when trying to determine weight loss, it's the only thing I can go by.

eta...I''m going to the gym in a few minutes and if I weighed myself before I''d be 3lbs heavier than I will after my workout...however tomorrow morning that 3lbs will be back....just fluid.
Thank EL! I google''d some more info, and most articles say first thing in the morning after using the restroom, and to only do it every couple of days or once a week.Date: 11/12/2008 4:32:16 PM
